I'm not sure I see the problem here. If they're chatting online (about, for example, rugby), even if it's not the real Manu he can do little harm from behind a computer. I'm sure as your son is switched on enough to discuss it with you, there's no chance of him arranging to meet an imposter. If players refused to chat to fans on facebook, would people think they were being aloof?

Don't know anything about this particular one, but I know there have been instances of fake accounts being set up pretending to be players.

Yeah they were chatting about rubgy which is innocent enough, but unfortunately in today's society....well need I say more.

I believe his is real as is a few other players, but as you say some are fake.

As long as your son is aware of the dangers, I don't see what harm an online chat can do - whether its with the real Manu or a fake Manu.

You can send messages to people without having them as friends, but you have to add them as friends to use the instantaneous chat function.

I'm not sure of this thread is alright on here, as libel could be inferred from it, but if your son is making you aware of the fact that the chat is occuring, then I think you'll be okay.

Yes he is on my friends list, I noticed he was on earlier today and added a lot more friends (Fans) if you look at his friends list it is full of the faithful of all ages....Not sure what is wrong with him chatting to a fan, I think it is nice tbh that he has took time to do this
