In the 18th man's defence.....we were all in shock about the weather it was freezing.... icon_sad.gif

However I am sure the atmoshpere will be electric at the Leeds game and the play-offs k020.gif

Overall the atmoshpere has been pretty good this season icon_cool.gif

To be honest i thought the atmosphere wasnt as good as it usually is but i put it down to the weather conditions and people being on holiday this needs to improve for the next few games which i think it will, when the fans sing to the players it does lift them you can see it does!

Quote: Dalek "Didnt have a great night on Friday in my opininon. I think the 18th man expected to win against a lower side and put in a below par display. Outplayed for most of the night by 82 crusaders fans. Some didnt turn up on the night others in a nervy display. I dont think we have a natural leader when things are not going our way - the best thing about 18th man performance for me was the lack of a rendition of "get your father's gun". The 18th man doesnt have a game plan, we are very willing but have a very limited repertoire of songs.
It isnt only the players who struggle to perform against "lesser" opposition.
We all need to hit our straps for the next 3 weeks - Warrington, Leeds and hopefully Wigan away. We need to do our part to lift the players when things are not going well.'"

icon_biggrin.gif well said. the wire away and (hopefully wigan away) wont be a problem atmosphere wise as away games are miles better than home games, home games need the team to be firing or it goes silent (the first 55 mins of the saints game compared to the last 25), or something the opposition does can have this effect but unless its derby day the kc rarely buzzes without help from the pitch.

You're right, I just think that a bit like the team, sometimes we just can't be bothered!

I agree with you though by the way!

We should have an 18th man leader. Someone like the fat bloke at Stoke City's games.

At the appropriate moment, he'll turn his back to the pitch and start: "shshshsh" "shshshsh" "shshshsh", then when it's all quiet he leads with "Delilah", never fails to get everyone going

Good topic!! We could do with a standout character to get us all going vocally to rally the troops on the field. Think we could do with some new motivating songs rather than the old rovers / rhino bashing ones! Sadly, I have the musical skills of a dead penguin.

Bizarrely, KC Stadium has a ban on instruments, but perhaps we could also do with someone with a drum/trumpet to get a positive upbeat rythym going for a new tune or two.

Swopped to the Morgue like west stand this year, get the pints quicker but it is a bit dull!

wow we agree on something icon_lol.gif

I wasn't there on friday but from the sound of it, it would have been hard to get excited about the game as it was a pretty dire spectacle by all accounts.

Don't see what's bizarre about it. Brilliant decision by the SMC IMO.
