Am I right in saying not one punch has been thrown during the derbies in the SL era? I'm not suggesting each game should be a 'fist fest' but you'd think if players were putting everything in to it something would give? Oh bugger it, let's have a fist fest!
Iirc Josh cordoba had a bit of fisticuffs at craven park. I can see a few punches been thrown in this one to be fair, as both teams are struggling at the moment (our away form) if our pack has as many errors in there game as they did against Salford, the rovers forwards are gonna have a field day winding them up and i can see a bit of handbags

| First ever drawn SL derby
either that or Whiting to take a dobson pass near our line and go the length in the dying minutes
And i can see it being a 12 man a side finish, 1 early bath each

| Quote: PAUL M "I think it will be a very close game just like last years matches were but I do fancy Rovers to take the points.
The main reason is their attacking style and also Morgan's tactical skills. They will look at Hull's stregnth and try to eliminate it. Our strength is the pack so they will play with lots of width, the dummy half will pass a long ball out to Dobson who will either hit a wide runner or he will feed it to I'Anson/Galea who will then hit a runner. Either way the width of their attack will mean our big men in the middle won't be able to dominate in defence and they will hurt us on the edges. They will also target Long in defence and will probably try to wind up Lauaki.
I wish we could play with that width, but we take 3/4 passes to cover the ground they do with 2 passes. If we are to win we must pressurise Dobson and not give him room to kick aswell as making him work hard in defence by using the big men on him.
A narrow Rovers win I reckon unfortunately 22-14.'"
I agree with all of this and I hope thats how will go about this game. One major area Im sure we will look at is the high kicks to your wingers and full-back, its a key area we need to exploit.
I see FC biggest chance of winning is to hammer us down the middle, work us hard over in the ruck and with the players you have, you are very capable of doing this.

| Hull to stroll it. Rovers won't even make the playoffs this year.

| If Hull play with maximum intensity in our D line Rovers will find difficulty in getting the ball wide with enough momentum. Any less than max intensity (as we have seen several times on our travels this year) and we will struggle. If we can score around our average level of 24 points per game (4th best in the league and nearly 8 points per game better than this expansive Rovers team I'm reading about have managed) we can win it.

| Sheldon - "The only problem is tactics and the use of the bench".
That's a pretty sizeable problem. Tactics and a general lack of coaching seem to me our biggest problem. Once again last saturday (just as i wrote after Celtic) there is no sign of any 'coaching'. Is our new no. 2 not having any inpout at all on the playing field, certainly appears that way. You would think with Long there now, at least the line would be deeper, we have the flatest line of attack in SL.
We can win on Friday but I feel it will come down to some individual brilliance or a bit of luck. We're owed a bit of luck after the last derby there.

| If Horne plays it will make a big difference, the occasion should not be lost on Fitzgibbon, O'Meley or Long.
ALL of the senior players need to give the fans the game they deserve, the turn-around to Monday is a concern as well.
