But like it or not, Cooke's been a big part of our recent past, and I think we should be allowed one thread on him. Or better still, re-open the 300+ page one.

He played the majority of his career with us and was (arguably) our most influential player of the last decade. When I posted about Fitz on the Roosters forum they didn't lock it.

Difference being Fitz had just left Roosters to join us. Cooke left us a long time ago and has no bearing on our club whatsoever.
If we did not have moderation this place would be a complete shambles and would just turn into a free for all.

After what has gone on with Cooke and our club, to not have it allowed open for discussion is a bit of a nonesense IMO.

I look forward to all the PM's to Sadfish asking for accounts to be closed in protest, and the responses you'll recieve.

Makes me laugh when Rovers forums talk about one of our players we call them obsessed, yet when we do it on our forum we think it is fine.

Personally, I simply think that in this situation, it is something pertinent to FC. The amount of gloating endured over this saga from our cross river friends makes it something worthy of discussion. People don't have to read it but providing rules are adhered to, what's the harm, this is an internet chat room FFS. Paul Cooke is an ex FC player. He raped the club and fans alike.
If we apply similar logic to all threads, then we should not allow any of them. i.e Domic. The world's gone mad.

Standee has it right. The site is privately owned. It has rules. And it has Moderators appointed by the site owners. As well as enforcing the rules we're supposed to manage the board to keep it relevant and usable. This is the busiest board on RLFans so lines have to be drawn somewhere.

There is ample opportunity elsewhere on the site to talk about Cooke's move to Wakey. Everything else to do with Cooke has been gone over a thousand times already.
