I find it a bit sad really that an ex-GB international who should be in his prime as a prop forward, obviously can't get a club and has to play amateur union.

I suppose he's only got himself to blame.

absolutely gobsmacked that thacks cant get a club...surely he wasnt as bad as that..i thought he actually wasnt that bad last season....but obviusly off-field antics havent helped...i say good luck to the man...

I must admit out of Thacks, King Lee and Horne I had a feeling Thacks would be the one offered a short but decent offer from a SL side !!

I think the problem Thacks has is one of burnt bridges and "once bitten".

End of the day SL is a small world.

Will he play as a centre in RU cos i dont fancy his chances of learning the complex scrumaging rules.

good points plus i doubt he would fancy moving to either catalans or london so thats 6 teams out of the 14 not an option with probably no place available at warrington, doubt saints would have him or even wigan leaving him with options with cas, wakey and bradford and maybe even rovers

Would have though he'd be able to drop down to one of the West Yorkshire lower league clubs and still pick up a bit of a pay packet.

there are, potentially, 36 places at prop available at the kind of income Thacks would expect, there are at least 40 props with a better attidtude currently around SL.

what a waste but then again SL is littered with problematic players and theres plenty who arnt even good enough for top level RL, maybe as much as half the SL personnel

I guess his rants in the national chip papers have caught up with him !!

as ive said before. i cant beleive he isnt worth a year at a superleague club....whatever has gone on, im sure i can speak for alot of people when i say that thacks is a fun-loving joker type of guy...maybe a little weak where socializing is concerned but that doesnt make the guy a bad person in my opinion....
maybe if afew others in last seasons squad wanted to play for fc as much as he did then we wouldnt be in this predicament for the last two years....

London would have been a good option for him if he had been serious about resurrecting his career. Brian MC doesn't take any rubbish and has done a lot for a few 'problem' players who are now regulars.

If the guy doesn't want that though or similar, then I've really no sympathy. He thought he was god after 2005 but his limitations and need to keep developing were harshly shown up when he played for GB. Instead of working on it, he just went downhill.

Some of these guys (and I mean some Rl players in general not just FC players) need to realise that being a big fish in a small pond isn't the heights of achievement. I just hope that the young kids coming through take a lesson from this.
