1.Fielding an illegible player in the Challenge Cup agree
2.Cookiegate agree
3.Released the best full back in the country thats a joke, surely?
4.Not signed M Dobson because he was “too expensive” hes doing good this season but I'm glad we didnt sign him. The problem is we didnt sign anyone different who is better!
5.Had little or no feedback regarding key club issues from the “board” and so it should be, it would be silly if the board told us everything they talk about
6.A continuation of the drink culture at the club don't think we have one tbh
7.Very mediocre players continuing to earn contracts agree
8.Poor, bland unattractive rugby (see 2/4/6/8/9 for root cause) agree, but that wouldnt bother me if it was done well
9.Signed average “journeymen” and below average imports not sure I agree on that one overall, although there have been a couple
10.Been overtaken by Hull KR – a club that 3 years ago looked at us with big wide open eyes. However, through shrewd coaching and a board that gives a f**k, have come good dont think we have been 'overtaken' yet. They have had one finish ahead of us, and are below us at the moment
11.Essentially the board have taken the p**s out of the fans – again can't see how
12.Recruited an “A” team coach to “lead” the club agree
.'"
There my views about what you have said. The main problem for me is who we haven't replaced. I've been going since 2002 and we haven't replaced these key players at all:
T.Smith
J.Smith
Cooke
Best
Barnett
Kearney
and Carvell
You could even point to other players, such as Brough (who I didnt really rate for us) and Lupton (was fantastic in 2004 when covering for Jason Smith) who provided very good back up for us and now our back up us poor. We have also let our pack gradually get worse over time.
The only key player we have replaced is Swain, and Prescott (although I don't see him as a key player despite one superb half a season, although others might).
It's not that some of the players we have brought in are bad, its that we havent got rid of players who are crap quick enough. All this for me, has been down to the board not going all out for that top coach. Kear for me was the right appointment at the time. McRae was leaving with a good team who should have done better after finishing 3rd. But with hindsight that didnt work out. Sharp was good initially but he was sacked a year too late. Agar so far hasn't proved any better, I'd go as far as saying worse at the moment. When Kear left we needed that top to take us to that next level, someone who wouldnt take crap, wouldnt have favourites and knew a good player when he saw one. We haven't got that man and we have suffered.
The fact that the team on the field has been so inconsistant since McRae left just shows how well run this club is off the field generally to get the club to where it is at today with its A Grade licence

| Quote: spegs "In 2005 with a mixture of youth and experience the club, against all expectations, beat arguably the three best teams in the country at the time to win the Challenge Cup.
The following year, despite losing the head coach, the team reach the Grand Final and the “big four” myth looks to be firmly dispelled as Hull are tipped for bigger and even better things.
Surely, after learning the lessons in the early nineties when ,after beating Widnes to win the Premiership, Hull and the shiny s in charge effectively disbanded that successful team, surely, not even Hull will make the same mistake again….
Well here we are at the start of 2009. The past two to three seasons we have hadalmost[/i papered over the cracks, [ialmost.[/i
In three years the team has gone so far backwards it is almost laughable. We go into a derby on Friday EXPECTING to lose as a result of the mismanagement both on and off the field. Yet still our average attendances are at a level most clubs can only dream about and the passion on the terraces continues, albeit fans are becoming more disgruntled at the current state of affairs.
We have a boy doing a man’s job in the most important role within the club – Chief Executive. A Marketing degree from Durham Uni enough to lead this great club into the future?…..I don’t think so.
With 5 minutes to go today I can honestly say I didn’t care as to whether we won or lost. I have shed more tears of joy and sadness watching this club over the years than I care to mention.
Today my apathy worried me….'"
Pretty much sums up my feelings.
The product on the pitch needs to the main priority now .
Too many average players have been rewarded with contracts.
Our retention / recruitment has been baffling to say the least.
It sickens me to the stomach to see Shaun Briscoe turning out for that shower of s**t ! Cooke has not been replaced yet.
You watch them both on Friday have stormers and stick it right up us.
Big Club with a small minded attitude I`m afraid. No one in a position of power with any passion for the Club .
Our best hope for Friday is for Lee Crooks to give a speech to the players about what Friday means to every Black and White on the planet !

| Top post and pretty much sums its up for me and is why i will no longer will go watch Hull FC for a very long time.
For me its been a downwood spiral since the club appointed Peter Sharp and this was only made worse with the susequent appointment of Agar. I mean what the hell is a club of our supposed size and stature doing even considering let alone apointing those two?
The club to me is a just a rip off, not caring one bit for the fans as too many fools are accepting the carp on the field and the short sighted appointments of contracts to coaches and mediocre players by going to watch them. Whilst this continues Hull FC will only stagnate and deterioate and we will be in the same predicament next year and in years to come.

| Must admit I really want to care passionately for the club, but it does get knocked out of you a bit. Rovers "revival" probably compounds matters (even though they will never be as big a club as FC).
The dour rugby has done my head in over the last few years. We seem to worry too much about nullifying other teams, rather than have them worry about us. No spark, no ingenuity.
If it wasn't for my son wanting to go, I would definately pick & choose my matches.
I hope Agar & Sharpy turn it round as they seem like really decent guys, it just seems that each season we end up talking about dour rugby, bad attitudes from the players, etc, etc.
