Maybe the rise in popularity of the BNP will finally shake our mainstream politicians out of their complacency and make them realise that there are issues that can't just be dodged - they have to be properly debated.'"
There is serious problem in head-counting.
One of the last acts of the previous conservative government was to stop counting the number of Europeans leaving the UK. This mickey-mouse bunch then stopped counting the numbers of non-Europeans leaving the UK.
So basically, we have absolutely no idea who or how many are here. |

I agree, which is why I put the phrase in quote marks. It's something that the BNP and their sympatisers like to bandy about, but it's actually a meaningless phrase.
Griffin actually referred to it as the people who were here 17,000 years ago at one point.  |

Madness, isn't it? Especially as with the computerisation of border controls there is absolutely no reason why it can't be done relatively easily. |

What got my goat is the one question, the ONE question that was relevant on the night ie immigration was bombed by the current Government.
Labour have been in for 12 years and yet Jack Straw couldnt or wouldnt relay any fears about the number of people coming in to the country.
I agree with people coming in with skills we need, but when Straw talks about no cap on the population I despair.
Is this country a balloon we can inflate when we need to find more room?
Its not racist to say no more room because eventually there wont be.
