Precisely - we've no cover at all in the backs at the moment. I don't like Mathers but the question is whether it's better to have him available to step in, or to risk either splitting up the halves again or playing Manu in the centres should one of the backs get injured.

It's not. We're not in for a replacement currently according to Agar, who says there's no truth in it whatsoever - " a made-up rumour".
