But that’s the whole point. When we played at Donny on in 2016, on a Friday night, IMO Wigan fans should have been assisted as it very much favoured Hulls fans.
True neutrality for a double header will difficult given the spread of teams. Only realistic way would be to scrap Magic and host the semis at the same venue, eg St James, Bramhall Lane.

Or to pick a neutral venue convenient for both teams and scrap the double header. It's contrived to save money on poorly attended semi finals which I have no problems with but they need to be appropriately located. Subsidising travel for a small number of fans isn't a solution.

I'm very much looking forward to the day out with both semis and the women's final. Just hope we're on last so if we lose I won't be tempted to walk away before the other semi!

I agree with this, but given the RFL’s current management and their trying anything different to attract fans. Am not sure they will go don that route.
I think Magic has lost its appeal. It should be scrapped for a number of reasons ( imbalance in number of games played, falling attendances, reliance on certain teams fans , the cost to the fans).
i cannot understand why the semi finals are not well attended. But as demonstrated on this thread by Sir Kev, there are rafts of fans who are happy to sit through several meaningless rounds of SL but when it comes to a knock out, showpiece occasion they cannot be bothered. What’s the point in establishing the emotional attachment if you don’t want to go to the critical games?
I appreciate we are a long way now from 20-25k attendances at Semi finals, but I’d be interested to know why so many no longer go.

Well the bus I'm on is leaving after the 1st game so I wont be able to witness the spit roasting of Halifax.
Though i would love it if they can keep it down to a 30 diff.

Don't think I'll be hanging around for the Saints game either.
I'll either wanna be getting blitzed round Bolton or stomped off back to my hotel room in a seething sulk, result dependent.
If only there was some middle ground.
