Would require a coach with a bit of vision so Washy & Horne against Quins i suspect.
Quote: hull smallears "I'd just like Hull to sign a decent 6 and lost Horne. I get sick and tierd of seeing him do a drop off to someone running back inside or just throw the ball out to Manu and hopefully he'll do something with it.
Horne is crap, I'd rather have someone like Ben Jefferies. Atleast their more creative than Horney.'"
Horne has never played well alongside Washy and has rarely had a chance to show what he can do alongside Long. Strangely he had his two best games alongside Turner.

| Quote: knocker norton "To be fair Hornes form earlier in the season was excellent and I suspect he hasnt fully recovered from the injury he picked up at Wigan (or game after?). I know that he was a doubt right up to kick off on Friday.
The tries he scored against both Cas and Wigan show he is far from crap IMO and if anything he is one of the few who are prepared to play through the pain barrier because of our annual injury crisis.'"
Spot on. With Longy missing Horne has had to be rushed back, before he got injured he was in great form.

I agree, and that is the combination i would like to see in Edingburgh..Horne starting to hit his form before the injury and I am sure he will start to improve again

Don't see the fuss about LMS myself. Personally think they is better English props out there and LMS should be a last resort IMO.
I think going out the cup will be a blessing in disguise for us, gives us a few more weeks on the training ground and more time for our injured players to recover. If we can beat quins and manage to get more players back without losing anymore I feel we are in good shape again.
I think this will be the time to suggest whether or not we have improved from last season, it was about this time last year we went on that awful losing run. If we can beat quins and get a few players back I reckon we are in a good position to make a surge for the play offs.

hopefully.i am not a big fan of lms either but am struggling to really pin down a 'domestic' prop to single out,who we may be able to entice to the kc.

Not sure why he has played better when alongside Turner, whether he is putting in a bit more work to make up for Turners lack of experience in the position or it might be down to the fact they just work well together.
It just goes back to Agar not seeing what is in front of him on the pitch. When Long is injured and you have seen Turner/Horne work well together why dont you reintroduce the partnership when needs must? Same with Moa, everyone of us who were at headingly saw what Moa brought to the side that day, yet Agar reverted to his trusted front rowers instead of picking the guy who would have been one of the first few names on the teamsheet that week.
Now if we had a fuly fit squad the first few names on my teamsheet for Quins would be Meley/Moa/Manu/Whiting all of who played well on friday. When you dont pick the form players it surely has an effect on the players in the squad and they will start thinking "Well it doesn;t really matter how i play i will be picked next week regardless as I seem to be one of the favoured few"
If Agar just did these basic things like the majority of us would i doubt he would get anywhere near as much stick as he is getting currently. Because at the end of the day each and every one of us feels we can pick a better team than Agar, yes he gets to see them in training but surely if they are not taking their form in training to the pitch you need to start trying something else.

I wouldn't be disappointed with the signing of LMS if happened but feel we should look at other better options providing they are available of course.
I think we will make the play offs I've always maintained the opinion we'd finish in one of the 5th to 8th positions. Looking at the fixtures we've got the hardest away games out the way now (Wigan, Saints, Leeds and Rovers (in our case anyway) ) , the next three games are vital for our season. Quins, Catalans and Castleford are all winnable games for us and if we win them we will go into the Saints game with a record of 10 wins and 5 losses. That should do wonders for the confidence of the players and will get a lot of the fans of the backs of players, particular the younger ones who do suffer when receiving a lot of criticism.
The trouble is the people of Hull are really demanding in terms of success which isn't a bad thing but when we lose one game we are far too quick to jump on the backs of the players which does more damage then good IMO. I know people will only judge on results which is fair enough but IMO we have improved a lot since last season and anyone who really expected us to be one of the frontrunners this season was probably setting there standards too high.
If we can win the next three games I am optimistic we can make the play off's and hopefully give a good account of ourselves from that point onwards. Rome not built in a day and all that.

| Just watched the hightlights of Wigan and Quins on the superleague website, Quins look poor in defence the first half abd Wigan broke tem many times.
The 2nd half was a diffrent story they looked very dangerous ball in hand, when they made a break, the back play was superb (something we could learn from).
Keep an eye on Dorn, take no dummy and close his space down he scored 2 good tries from spotting gaps and going through them against Wigan.
Also kick high to their wingers, Penny and Sharp both poor under the high ball. I would love to see Briscoe run at Penny.
BJB out for them is a big blow very good attcking FB and will meaning switching their team about.

What about Wire, Bradford and Hudds?
I think we tend to make all our away games hard for some reason.
Lets hope we are classed as the home team on Saturday

Whether he plays centre or 6 he will defending in roughly the same position. He has defended better at 6 than at centre, Leeds seemed to be a one off for him tbh, the rest ofnthe time he has defended quite well.
