Away they conceded 20 at Warrington and 22 at Bradford.
As you well know, Wigan are at home.
So how many are FC going to score and how many less than Wigan will that be?'"
I can't believe all this negativity towards our chances, good job I'm not a player having to listen to all the doom and gloom merchants. Our pack is equal or better than theirs. Half backs are more than equal/better than theirs. Sean Long is far superior to Leuluai even on one leg, with a far superior kicking game. Richard Horne has got his confidence back and is no worse than Sam Tomkins. Berrigan is a better hooker than Riddell could ever hope to be. Against two of last seasons top 3 we have conceded a total of 18 points and won both. If we are defensively tight as they have been already this season then I believe our superior firepower out wide will be good enough to beat Wigan. I have no doubts it will be a hard tight match, but I don't go into the game fearing them at all.

| We haven't been consistent yet this season for me. Have played well in patches and poorly in others. Will have to be a complete 80 minute performance for us to win it and I just think wigan are probably mentally stronger than us right now so will win this one.
Tough few weeks coming up and as someone else has said could define our season

The games going to be a cracker imo but I can't agree with your line about having superior firepower outwide. We have a fantastic backline imo from 1-5 that not even Leeds can match but we can sometimes get run over the top of in the forwards. If Hull come here and win on Friday night i'm pretty sure you'll have done it through fantastic work from guys like Fitzgibbon, O'Meely, Manu, Tickle etc laying a great platform for Horne and Long to work in.
Theres very little in the sides imo. I think Hull are slightly stronger in the forwards and we're slightly stronger in the backs. They do say games are won and lost in the pack though and that always worries me a little when we're playing against teams with packs as good as yours.

I wouldn't have said your 1 to 5 is that great. They're all in good form but other than gleeson there are no real stars in there

Gleeson is the weakest of the 5 at the moment when they're all fit imo which probably shows how strong that line up is.
Phelps has been missed at fullback and has been superb since he moved there. The 2 first choice wingers(Roberts and Richards) have 14 try between them in 5 games and Goulding when coving on that right wing has 3 in 3. There also can't have been a more consistant centre in superleague over the past couple of season then George Carmont. He may miss the game on Friday which would be a huge blow.
Like I say we're hugely strong 1-5 but with your pack being so good they may not see much ball if you get on top early. That Hull pack looks fearsome this season and your bench is massive.

totally agree, it will be very tight in the pack, but your backs are more threatening than ours at the mo. i think it will be tight, but Richards may just be the difference especially if we spill a high ball early. hope im wrong mind

| I think my prediction on our board iirc was-
Wigan 18
Hull 24
I just think your pack may prove a little too strong for us especially if it's wet and the game is played down the middle.

Unbelievable isn't it!
Even if it wasn't our game then what about Huddersfield vs Leeds?
Another huge error comes in a couple of weeks when they've decided not to put the Saints vs Warrington game on in favour of Crusaders vs Catalans That is literally the worst call by Sky in the history of them showing rugbyleague.

It's why I dont have Sky, they don't pick the games people want to see.

I know they've got to pick each team a certain amount of times but i'm sure they could have done abit more fiddling about with their selected fixtures before the season to fit in games like Saints vs Warrington, Huddersfield vs Leeds and Wigan vs Hull. I know they can't look into a crystal ball to see where teams would be in the league at a certain time but all those sides were tipped to have good seasons.
To pick Crusaders vs Catalans over Saints vs Warrington is pathetic.
