| Quote BP1="BP1"Like everyone else I'm stunned & depressed by the news. Saw the rumour on the forum last night and assumed it was a joke. Turns out its true, god help us.
Like many on here, I can't see what he has done to warrant the extension, particularly at this stage of the season. If it all goes badly wrong in the next 4 games we've backed ourselves into a very tight corner.
Just for the record, I would like to repeat what I've been saying repeatedly in the past. Richard Agar is not & will not ever be a grade A coach and for as long as he is in charge we will continue to languish in mid table mediocrity, underachieving and watching the rest go by. We may well finish 6th this year and have a decent cup run, but Richard Agar is not the man to take us up to the next level no matter how many years he has in charge.
If I'm proven wrong then feel free to ram these comments back down my throat, but I will be amazed if that situation comes to pass. I will continue to support the team I have followed for well over 30 years (starting at the den of the enemy tomorrow) but it is support with a heavy cloud hanging over it.
We have just commited ourselves to a further 2 years of going round in circles and if Richard Agar somehow manages to see out his contract we will be no further on in our development than where we are now. To the folk out there who say he should be given time to prove himself, fine lets do that and I'll bet you any money we will still be having this argument once more in 2012 as the club ponders whether to grant him yet another 2 year contract after those tremendous seasons where we climbed to the dizzy heights of 7th and that never to be forgotten Challenge Cup run all the way to the quarter finals.
Like I said, I'm prepared to nail my colours to the mast right now and say Richard Agar will not & cannot ever lead us to the promised land. And I didn't need another 2 frustrating years of watching opportunities slip by to tell me that.'"
I echo every word of that

| Quote jordanp="jordanp"I dont agree that we are a different team, and I dont that it is the results themselves against Salford and Crusaders that are the most worrying, it is that we looked the same old side with no creativity, only play up the middle apart from the odd predictable use of the fullback as an extra pivot play, with no plan B at all when the pack is out muscled, our wingers dont touch the ball despite that been blamed last season on not having a halfback, what is the excuse now, add that to Agars embaressing favouritism towards certain players.'"
Our attack is the 4th best at the moment - we average around 25 points a game despite having pathetically failed to use the Salford/Crusaders games to bump that up. We are not great and there is room for much improvement, but not as bad as you make out as the facts themselves show.

I'd say your board has lots of ambition to make lots of money, something thev've been very successful at despite poor seasons on the pitch in the last couple of years. whilst your gates increase every year and the money keeps rolling in they look at it as doing a very good job, and to be honest as long as the crowds do keep increasing why would they do anything different?

What makes you think James Rule made the decision to extend his contract?

I've no idea if it was James, Kath or whoever, it's done, it will cost some sponsors, we may get some new ones, who knows.
Interested to know who the assistant will be beyond 2010, but I guess that will come in time as well.
Interested to know who the club retain, who they bring in, and if they will make the hard decision if the season, or next, is an abject failiure.
One thing is for certain, the club will outlast the next fifty coaches, chief execs, we'll all be in our box before FC ceases to exist.

| Going off topic here, but in his book Long says Hull offered "...the best package by far".
Anyway Agar - he seems very popular with the players. It's their chance to prove it tomorrow.

| Absolutely speechless at this decision.
Since Agar took over Sharp's position, we have not seen one iota of any improvement from the team's performances.
The board must be watching a different game, from what I see.
We had Brian Smith, who didnt sign international class players, and he transformed players like Karl Harrison, Lee Jackson,Paul Eastwood into international players,we had a side that had a great team ethic.
We should be challenging Leeds and St Helens, but the only two teams who are challenging them IMHO, are Wigan and Huddersfield.- we are way behind Wigan and Huddersfield.
We play as individuals, not as a team.
Many people bought a season pass and thought, we would play a better attractive style, with the new players especially Long.
We are close to the cap now, Agar will have little room to manoeuvre in the off season
Very interesting in the close season, how the season passes will sell.
A very sad day, and a contract extension, that is beyond comprehension.
