| If Sam signs and fulfils his potential he should be a straight swap for Cusack on next seasons quota.
Imo a lot rests on how Horney plays, if he doesn’t hit the highs of yesteryears we’ll need to find this elusive “top class” halfback.
Remembering that Longy is at the latter end of his career, this will still be the case in two years time.
There are also a few players with ‘options’ in regards of contract extensions.
In the next year or so the nucleus of the team could (should) be the likes of; Washbrook, Jack and Tom Briscoe, Hall, Houghton, Burnett, Whiting, Tansey, Lauaki, Turner, Horney, Yeaman, Long, O'Meley, Moa? Berrigan? Fitz?
One thing is for sure there's going to be a lot of players coming and going over the next few seasons.
I suppose only time will tell whether the club/Agar has done the right thing.

Beat me to it.
I simply cannot believe that we ask a lad to prove himself for a contract. He does just that, and in the process becomes a firm favourite with the fans. We then piddle about like this.
I don't doubt we are not doing it lightly and are looking at a big name signing. It would have to be a big name otherwise get Moa signed.
Biggest mistake was extending Cusack's contract so early. We wouldn't be in this position now

radford and tickle may call it a day, berrigan and long might not be up to another year in 2011, cusack and fitzgibbon may retire and that would leave us with lauaki and moa props! is their any coming through? maloney, freer, lynch and bell are rumoured to be off are shaw and adlous ready or even good enough?
if those 6 go and we only have 3 quota places left is there enough uk players good enough to fill those roles, either from inside the club or outside?
and then we've got
Mark Calderwood
Kirk Yeaman
Gareth Raynor
Ewan Dowes
Richard Whiting
Willie Manu
Danny Houghton
Craig Hall
all ooc
very difficult time for super league sides but changes that had to be made imo.'"
dobbins are after houghton and hall

| Do you think they would jump ship to the dobbins if things next season replicate this season?

May be old news but one of their centres and their hooker are OOC next season so 1st team spots beckon. Given the opportunity would you rather work under morgan or agar?

He can have no credit for Thorman on 1 year deal because he shouldn't have been here in the 1st place
As for Sam again no credit for me he brought him in and pitched him straight in against Huddersfield and then drops him a few games later, brings him back at Leeds away were Sam made a mistake from a drop out so Agar drops him again and then brings him back against Leeds aty home because we have no one else at the time to bring in, and then Sam came in and forced his hand
Look at how many players have gone backwards under him, does he get the best of the team does he f00k
the guy is f00king clueless and should f00k off now and let someone who is capable of doing the job to the best of there ability do it, instead of running to the board asking to do it himself and look how that has backfired'"
i agree, but we needed someone who could lead us around the park, agar and the club thought he was the right guy but its now been proven he wasnt, what would of happened if hed signed him on a longer deal we would be stuck with him, who else was available at the time?

That's the big issue though isn't it money! Which they are in short supply of at the moment they won't be waving big wads of cash about this time.

| Contract priorites for those out in 2010 are Hall and Houghton. We've got to sort these out with long deals till at least 2012 as soon as possible. Then Yeaman who is coming into his prime in the next couple of years, so he should get a similar length deal too.
Then I think the rest of the out of contract players can go except for probably Whiting (depending on Turner's progression) and Calderwood (depending on J. Briscoe's / Tuffour's progression). Whiting would still be a good squad player and Calderwood could rotate with the young kids for one more season. Kent and Tuffour may also warrant new deals.
I'd imagine Cusack, Raynor, maybe Fitzgibbon and Radford retiring. King will definately be gone by the end of next season and could be Dowes' last in a Hull shirt, this leaves us very light in the forwards again, which makes the signing of Moa a must.
