If Radford is bullet proof for 3 years we're well & truly stuffed & backl to the Hetherington/ Agar years - great!
I am really disappointed with Pearson. Goals set for Gentle - top 5. Win the derbies. Wembley final
Goals for Radford zilch! Talk about double standards!
Anyway cheers for that Wilf, if true, you've really changed my crap weekend into utter sh@te

Not suggesting you're wrong at all as I don't know. But what clear and unequivocal evidence do you have that this happened ? Genuine question as I haven't seen any. It's a pretty big call if you only have heard some rumour. As I say genuine question - I'm intrigued that's all.

Well hopefully it won't be Radford spending it or
we'll have another prop & back rower coming in.
He should be getting underperforming players performing. If he can't
he should show some honesty & admit he's out of his depth.
Any money being spent should be on a new coach.

| Quote: WormInHand "Oh, I completely agree that it was a very strange strategy to publicly declare, particularly considering the very small ball-pool currently available. I believe Pearson's head was turned by Radford's avaracious whisperings into his ear so didn't see the long sharp knife his playing staff plunged into Gentle's back egged on by his local hero.
Problem for Radford is he's now reaping what he's sown. The disloyalty he encouraged towards his former boss he is starting to see turned against him, if rumours of his losing the dressing room are to be believed. I think the outrage against Gentle started when he - rightly - dropped Yeaman. The players backed the player, unchecked by Gentle's assistant who should have backed the coach, is my belief. So why is Radford surprised that his constant swapping and changing accompanied by a running commentary in the media has not inspired the players to continued commitment to him?
It's plain to me that it's Radford's man-management that's at the bottom of this slump. Just as many predicted would happen given the rapid promotion of a player and mate to boss. The 'local' red herring has only compounded the unfolding disaster - the local 'glue' has become our undoing.'"
The best post I have read on here for some time

I've tried to make it clear in my posts that what I describe is my belief and opinion. I've come to that belief simply by watching and observing the recurring patterns, cyclical in nature for all to see at our club. It's not hard to read between the lines, and it's not based on rumour but on what I see with my own eyes in the behaviour of our players, the noises that come out of the club and spotting the triggers that pre-empt a downfall. For example, Yeaman's dropping last year, his subsequent public admissions that he was miserable (for that read uncomfortable and accountable) under Gentle, his public outpourings of relief and happiness when Radford took the helm. As for Radford's ambition, well, against all the odds he's head coach at a Super League club in super quick time. Did he achieve that by not making the right noises? Telling Pearson what he needed to hear despite the astonished protestations of most onlookers? And what happened at Huddersfield was beyond capitulation. I m o.
You know, another feeling I get was not that Gentle was particularly gentle at all, I get the impression (yes it's an impression again!) that his quiet nature covered a determined will and it's that which the players didn't like.
So no unequivocal evidence, just common sense and analysis. As I've repeatedly said, just my belief and opinion and I could be wrong. I reckon it's a fairish summary of what's going on, though.

The man who took us to the cup final, and a play off spot? That Gentle?

A great analogy of what may have transpired, I would also suggest that is why Andy Hay,was never replaced.
I asked AP on FC Live, Who would replace Hay? - His reply was Radford,"Lee would absorb Hay's
duties". ie Radford was already moving up the ladder.
It will be interesting to see Pearson's reaction, if as expected we get drubbed by Leeds.

Absolutely. Didn't the Agar apologists urge us to wait until Agar had his own team? For about 4 years?

Yup, we seem to have a lot of people who accept mediocrity, so long as they can watch FC play in Black and White!

Good points raised.
I would say on the evidence we see in the games compared to what they are reportly achieving in training & the words of AP when appointing Radford it seems that there is a serious issue with the players attitude and one that Gentle struggled to break down.
I would say its a fair assumption that when they are pushed to put the required or expected amount of effort in or work a little harder than they are used to that this is when things go t!t5 up. Lets be honest professional players should be able to carry out game plans they work to in training, not make the same school boy errors week in week out regardless of who the coach is.
Who knows if Gentle was trying to lay the law down and instil some discipline into the players only to a player revolt on his hands and possibly not being backed up by his assistant.
There is obviously a serious issue that has been at the club for years and no one can seem to solve it.
I have to say though I'd be interested to know just what hours the players do in training as quite often I have seen them at around 2pm a local coffee shop before they go home. Never bothered me before but they way they are performing I now do wonder what the hell they do each day at training.
What is plain to see is that Radford whatever his dreams and aspirations is not currently the man for the job and for me is part of the institution at the club that has failed year on year.
One other disappointing aspect at present is the lack of words from the main man AP about the current situation.
