| All the player's tried, they were brilliant in defence, but my god, they were abysmal in attack,it was like watching 5 year old's trying to catch and pass.

Yes. Doesn't seem to have been discussed at length but he clearly wasn't fit. Whether he is at fault for declaring himself ready or the club's for taking the gamble is a moot point. Horne should've played centre. Again, with hindsight, of course.

How was he clearly not fit? And how would Horne have been any fitter when he's been out for far longer?
Crooks had a mare, but it was nowt to do with fitness.

He was fit but wasnt "match fit" and it showed.....Hindsight is great...Horne should have played 6 or 7 in hindsight...prob 6 as Holdsworth does vanish in matches.

| I didn't think he looked fully fit. I also thought he landed awkwardly when he missed the high ball before their first try and then looked very sluggish chasing Richards (who was accused before the match by a Wigan fan as being able to be caught by anyone shuffling on their bum, such is his loss of speed since his injury) when he was offside anyway. That's when I first said yesterday "Bugger it, Crooks isn't fit after all" as he looked nowhere near as fast as usual.
Was it fitness or match fitness? Both, I guess, and I was ecstatic to see him in the team. But with hindsight (again!) if it boiled down to how likely a returning player would cope better after months out, Horne would've been the likelier candidate, given his experience and the fact that he's returned from injury many times in his career.

| I think Miller is the first real scrum half we have had in years and has bags of potential. He will only get better and hasn’t been too shoddy given the scale of the task when he got to Hull. If the truth be known, I think there are a lot of young lads in the team that would not have had a look in under Agar. There have been many positives this season with the progression of young players (Tom Lineham, Ben Crooks, Josh Bowden, Chris Green et al).

Miller has the potential to be a really good player, but he needs good coaching to progress.

| It's a team game only individuals tried The pack didn't dominate the halfback wasn't given a platform. To have a go at a lad who as just come into the team is not fair the lad need time to learn his trade. For me Whiting should have been the other Hull saved this game as the worst one this season.Wigan was only that bit better. In a way glad we didn't win I think we would have dropped the bleeding Cup .Still getting my pass

| I really dont understand all this talk of the pack being dominated or a lack of effort, the defence was immense. The plain and simple reason we lost the game was a lack of big game experience and nerves. The amount of dropped ball under absolutely no pressure and from a perfectly good pass was just farcical not to mention the schoolboy errors that were made time after time. We couldn't build any momentum or pressure and it really cost us. We only needed a 10% improvement in those areas and we would have won the game IMO which is incredibly frustrating.

| They comes a point when you start running out of excuses, when DJ has his kicking boots on we can really control a game. When he doesn't he is exposed for the other areas of his game being so poor.
Miller on the other hand I am willing to be patient with as he is young and yesterday aside has being good for us IMO.
I really hope a full pre season will help them blossom as a good partnership but i fear it'll be too late for most supporters.

I'd say maybe 30% improvement but agree with your sentiment.

| I have said it many times and maintain that I just don't rate Holdsworth. Barring the odd flash of class he really has more bad games than good. We really should've speaking with Cas and hijacking Salford's Chase signing and offer DJ the other way. We'll never win anything with him in the halves.
We will need a goal kicker but other than that we won't miss Tickle one bit.
Still need big changes to be successful...

Not been impressed with him at all....was expecting a lot more, like you say..take away his kicking game, which is hit and miss as well and he isnt really that good.Personally wouldnt go any where near Chase either...vastly over-rated and think he is good in a lower team...another Denis Moran.

Maybe, but he just has that ability to create something from nothing. Especially when his team is on the back foot!! We certainly need something different!!
