44592_1267285924.jpg With typical under-statement, Saints coach Mick Potter said: "Sean Long didn't surprise me. We all know how good he is and he should be happy with the way he went." That could be translated as, "damn him, damn, damn him, the little ...":d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_44592.jpg |

i got a text 3 days before saints game saying long had injured himself in training and was out for 4 weeks,i just happened to be working at south hunsley school at the time and long was training with the squad,so i wouldnt personaly read to much into whats said on here.'"
I agree Wolfie, pre season we had Dobbins telling us how past it Long was and what a disappointment he will be.
Now they have realised he still has plenty of gas left in his tank it looks like every week were gonna get Dobbins on here with their tales of him being injured and out for weeks. Wishful thinking I can only presume !!
Having had hamstring problems myself in the past and having watched Long walking around the park clapping the fans at the end of the game he certainly didnt seem to be in that much pain. I remember I could hardly walk and certainly could'nt walk as freely as he was.
I Would rest him at the weekend though if not completely right !

Don't like any of them to be honest but at a push would maybe go for option 1?
Any other ideas?'"

Did Agar say that Longy had a dead leg?.

| Watching during and after the game and listening to what Agar said I would be surprised if this was true. That said he won't go through the season injury free, it's not the Hull FC way.
Would be gutting but we do have options and it would mean gametime for either Turner or Washbrook.
I'll wait and see.

| Saw him about half hour or so after the match and he was definitely limping but didn't look too unhappy.
Agar definitely said the knocks to him, Horne and Radford were nothing serious but its possible he didn't know the full extent of the injury then or was playing it down.
Alternatively it may be there is nothing in this story.
TBH I did wonder if he would be rested against Crusaders anyway. I'm not saying I think he should be rested but I can see a few changes for that match.

| If anything Washy will come in, be named at 7.
with Tansey taking some work on in attack i would think.
Pointless makinf 3/4 changes to accomodate one change

Agreed.
Leave Tansey where he is and utilise either Washy or Turner in the halves. Too many changes could upset the team further. Although if Calderwood was fit then him coming in and Hall to centre, Whiting to FB and Tansey to 7 would also make sense.

I agree we should keep tansey at fullback changing things around will just spoil our cohesion.

| going off topic a little, i read an article in the papers that Leeds have adopted a new policy for this season regarding telling the press or fans any injury news unless that player is happy too, just wondered what your thoughts were on this stance and if other clubs should or should not adopt it?

Maybe Rovers could tell their fans where Clinton is!

I'd simply leave as is, Tansey is here to be the FB so no reason to move him out of that position. If either Horne or Long or both are not risked then Turner & Washy get their chance in the halfs. Just can't see what good it would do moving players around who have put in great perfomances in the positions they've played so far and what it would achieve when for my mind we do not need to do that.
