[quote="The Reason":3e09qe5x]Hi Andy
The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

| Quote: ChrisH "Berrigan has been a disappointment. The expectations were huge with comments like "the biggest signing since peter Sterling" being bandied around. He was expensive and was to be pivotal. A player to take us to the next level. In fact he was never that sort of player , he played well with inspirational players around him , he didn't do the inspiring. The management of expectation was poor , misguided , mistaken , whatever but the marriage between Berrigan and Hull FC didn't work. The 4 year deal has made it worse. getting out is good but whether we'll get any benefit next season will depend on luck as to who's available and the board in respect of the choices thay make and to some extent what Berrigans fourth year option says.
I think to say he's never even been average is a bit harsh though!
I could put a couple of stinkers in there too. I have nothing against Berro,i just think we never got our moneys worth and he never got to the standard with us, you would expect from a Aussie international.I hope some good comes out of this and we can clear the way to sign a top class half back.

| Quote: garry brindley "Sorry to labour the point but how can you say you never thought he looked average if you even thought he looked 'so off the pace he must have been carrying an injury'?
Sounds like you must be basing some of it on what you knew about him from playing in the NRL rather than just what you saw for yourself?'"
Because I think his ability has always been apparent. It may just have been a half break nobody picked up on when he looked round for support, or a shape to put a little kick in until he saw no runners, or a lovely late ball his teammate had given up/turned away from and ended up dropping it. Better players around him and more of those plays come off and he looks brilliant. That doesn't mean he's always imposed/been able to impose it on the game enough.
For me, average is when a player doesn't particularly impress you whilst not looking capable of any better. Without meaning to sound cruel (which is hard when you name specific players), the only hooker I'd call average for us in SL was Andy Last.
Quote: garry brindley "So when you said 'he never looked average' you didn't mean he looked better than that, you meant he looked worse?'"
For a few games this year, yes. I've seen better performances by park players than a couple he put in.

Didn't they play together for Canberra reserves and Australia schoolboys?

I see the difference in what you're saying, but my point is whether he's a good player putting in average/poor performances or he's regressed to become an average player and is playing his level, it's been going on for three seasons now and that's too long for someone who earns what he does

| Berrigan brought some much needed class to the centre position last season at a level not evident for a number of years in a Hull side. For that reason alone I will be disappointed not to see him continue that next year, however players come and go and if his release is good for him and allows us to bring in one or more top quality players then it's a natural course to take for both parties.

I still think the former. This year was a bad year but I think it would be a bit quick to say that's now his level. If he does stay I would expect him to be more like his 2008/09 form, but still not the best he could be because I still don't expect us to play open enough rugby for that.
I've said before that I don't think salary is a fair noose to string him up with. It's not his fault, and if we set up the right way he would more than likely be worth every penny. It's the club's fault if they want to make a big investment and then not do everything they can to ensure they get the best return possible.

I think he has gone down hill for whatever reason which seem to be personal issues.The good thing to come out of this is Danny Houghton raising the bar and taking the number nine shirt off him

They continue to do that every day they retain the employment of Rich Agar.
Whether it's Berrigan's fault or not his performances haven't been good enough, even say you accept the first two years weren't his fault because of the poor team, he was in a much better team this year and still didn't perform but then it's not his fault again because of personal problems! That might well be fair enough too but I just feel it's reached a point where if we have the chance to let him go and decent prospects of improving the squad as a result then it's the right thing to do.
