| Quote Hessle Roader="Hessle Roader"If we can all see this, then presumably our coach can and should be encouraging him to run more and kick less. As you say he looks a completely different player when he backs himself. Lets hope Friday is the day he starts to show it regularly.'"
People have been saying that for a while now, is it an element of laziness or is he lacking confidence?

| Quote Karen="Karen"Wow, you are seriously revelling in a player's injury. I honestly don't know how anyone can enjoy a player getting injured in the way you have. How very sad.'"
Can't really blame any kr fan for enjoying Kelly getting injured when you consider what he did to rovers and the end result.I'd feel the same TBH. It's not like he's in hospital with a suspected broken neck or even a career ending injury. Always going to get stick though for posting on here and quite right. Fingers crossed fit for the semi but if not 90%+( no players 100% this time of year) wouldn't risk it.

| Quote Mr. Zucchini Head="Mr. Zucchini Head"Noticed someone criticise Griffin earlier on. Apart from maybe Fonua he's been our best player across the last two games imo. Much better from him. Obviously if Kelly is out then Connor will play 6, but if everyone is fit I'd quite like to see us go away from convention a little and try Connor at 13. He is big and physical enough to play there imo and gives us that extra pivot which would allow Shaul to roam around looking to get on the end of things rather than being involved in too many passing plays.'"
Absolutely agree, criticism of Griffin on his last two performances is completely unjustified IMO.

| FFS will people stop going on about Sneyd attacking the line!!!! Its not his game!!!! Hes an organiser and a kicker - now these are areas he could improve on as hes very hot and cold and needs more consistency but lots of that depends on how the teams playing. The pack doesnt have to be dominating but the team has to be playing good percentage rugby for Sneyds game to work and unfortunately too many errors ruin our percentage plays and nullifies Sneyds key attributes

FFS as you put it whilst it may not be his game in your opinion the fact he actually has the ability to do it and when he does he looks a far better player is what is frustrating as he has shown this season. So to say it's not his game is tosh when he's shown he can do it, otherwise he his a one trick pony and totally predictable.

Exactly. For the shift plays to work, he needs to engage defenders but he doesn't. Therefore, defenders sit off him and its easier for them to shift across and cover the runners

Thats my point, don't get me wrong I like Sneyd as a player but what really stood out during the game against St's is that he very rarely got close to the St's defensive line which made our attacking threat non existent and St's found it easy to contain. When he actually takes to the line and draws in one or two defenders that then allows for us as the attacking team to open up the holes created in the defensive line. This he has proved he can do and is in his game. Now I am not talking about him breaking the line etc just that he needs to engage the defenders more as when he does this not only does he create doubt in the defensively line etc he also creates holes in the defensive line which he himself has utilised and gone through.

| Back on topic re Kelly hopefully his issue isn't too serious and is carrying a knock rather than an injury as such. He has looked to be carrying a knock the last few games and has been targeted quite heavily by opposing teams. Question Radford has now is if Albert is not 100% does he risk him on Friday or rest him?
Connor is more than an able replacement for Kelly if needed to rest him.

Finally someone with a bit of sense.
If Danny Houghton or Gareth Ellis pulled up for example, there wouldn't be a single part of me that would think 'they deserve it'. These two are fine players, loyal and have done more in their game over here then Kelly could ever envisage.
I'd say the same if Kelly signed for Saints or someone. It's not anti Fc in the slightest.

There's some players who even as a opposing fan you just can't help respect and like. Ellis and Houghton obviously fit that mould for a lot of non hull supporters. For myself James Roby is a perfect example of a player I can't ever remember getting angry at. Even when he's scored trys against us ( and there's been plenty ) I find myself being angry we've allowed it more than anything. Most players are decent guys and some simply don't help themselves. Kelly falls into the latter for kr fans just as cookie did for us. I used to hate barrie mac when he played for leeds but after reading his book and then meeting him found him to be a top bloke. It's pantomime at the end of the day. In every great story you need someone to love and route for and someone to hate.

Excellent post - we all have players who we dislike when they play against our teams. Cunningham at Saints would score from acting half and you knew it was coming but couldn't be prevented. He was always respected though. Chase, on the other hand who is a brilliant player, is despised because of his personality which shows in his play. Many supporters would be happy to see him injured. Kelly let Rovers down very badly when they needed him most and left Hudgell with no other option but to sack him. The result was a much weaker Rovers team with two vital games to play both of which were lost by one point. I and many others believe we would have remained in super league had he not gone walkabout. He would have been loathed wherever he went but going to the dark side only makes it easier to wish him bad fortune. This is not peculiar to Rovers fans, Cookie actually feared for his own safety for a while from angry FC fans. As you say it's all a pantomime.
