Whiting is an outstanding player from the lower leagues, i see warrington have just signed another prop Anthony England from fev so thats Hill they have had and now this 1, plus saints got Walmsley and hes a crackin player how come we havent brought anyone in like this?

There's no guarantee that Anthony England will go onto the standard of either Walmsley or Hill. We have brought in players from lower leagues - Jamie Ellis in the 2012 season, Dom Maloney in 2009 (?), and you could somewhat argue Tom Lineham as we signed him from York aged 18, although he spent a couple years in our academy.

Back on subject and how richly Whiting deserves his Testimonial in 2014. When you look back over the past few seasons he really has been the lynch-pin of the side and yet he goes about his business in such an unassuming manner. As I said on another thread according to the FC Squad thread on here his contract is up at the end of next season and he is much coveted around the game so for me he needs an extension and quick! FC without Superman is pretty unthinkable!

Couldn't agree more. For me he has been too often compared to other players in terms of his performance - particularly Joe Westerman. He is a SL player in his own right and a bloody good one at that. Time to tie him up for another 3 years and look to bring him into the coaching setup towards the end of that. Get it sorted AP.
