| Quote The Reverend="The Reverend"Bloody Nora why don't we all stay at home & give the 2 pts to Wire without a fight eh?
We've picked up some injuries & it's going to be tough but common guys lets not throw the towel in before we've even started!
The Giants & Catalan have also got many out & I'm sure most teams in super league will go through it at some point.
If Seymour is out, Ellis or Nicklas will be chomping at the bit for an earlier than expected 1st team shot.
If Martin is out, we've got Turner, Crooks or Whiting.
The hardest to replace would be O'Carrol, but maybe a shuffle of our back rowers could compensate in the short term. Not sure on how Burnet is after his op.
Anyway in any kind of weather eh, let's get to the game, cheer em on & see what happens'"
O'Carroll will be hard to replace but I think that Green showed enough in the two friendlies to be given a shot.
Agree with pretty much all of what you've said.

| Quote thehullwhitestar="thehullwhitestar"So Heremiah out, Lynch playing with a wrist problem and O'Carroll doubtful !
Our complete lack of depth in the pack is being tested already and we haven't played a competitive game yet.
Not to mention who the third injury is along with Seymour. Gentle said three problems on RH tonight and Smailes said that all three are very doubtful.'"
At least tony martin's fit

| Forgot about Green, he looks about ready I think.
Also thought Pearce went well against Bratfud too.
Very exciting times for the fringe players to stake an early claim for a 1st team slot.

Yes, he is. But is he injured?
(O'Carrol's a bit young, Marfa, think Tony's gonna be a favourite. Bet he wears red kegs just like O'Meley...)
Who told you he's not hurt, Jake?

Exactly, it's what most of us have wanted for some time.
Hope the injuries aren't serious but would rather give these players time to recover properly than risk doing more damage.

| Looking on the bright side, I've never in all honesty expected anything but a loss this weekend, it's all about the performance and seeing promising signs against a good side. So (here's that bright side I promised) this just possible gives us a chance of seeing how 1 or 2 of our fringe players measure up in a game we're not expected to win anyway. Just because of how much change we've had in the close season, we're almost certainly going to improve as the season progresses rather than hit the ground running.
So Heremaia's not playing, Nicklas probably gets a run out after looking pretty good against Bradford and getting good reviews against York and Featherstone, if Seymour's out it's a similar story for Ellis. O'Carroll we could bring Green in, or Lynch do a longer spell, or even move Tickle up to prop and play both Aspinwall and Whiting.
After all the negative reception when he signed (myself included) Martin is probably the only one mentioned who I'd not see a bright side TBH, as it's the only one where we know the replacement isn't good enough nor likely to be. The others we at least can use the opportunities to better assess where we and some more of our players are actually at.

| My biggest concern would be turn(style)er in the centres. He can't defend to save his life and wire will exploit it all afternoon. We always knew the squad was skinny as hell with no real cover and i think injuries will have a big say in how our season pans out.
Good to see we've finally rid ourselves of our scrum half injury hoodoo though

Have to agree. As I said in my post, at least with the other players supposedly out we can look at some new options to see how they do and give them a bit of experience, at centre it will just be a backward step.
