| IF Aspinwall has any sense, he should keep a low profile until the end of the season.

I work for myself but I've had jobs before that I would have been sacked for if I'd appeared in court and been found guilty

Maybe you can post full details of the club's disciplinary policy so we can all share your knowledge of it

Well, considering what Raynor had done I'd say he would have had a case for unfair dismissal. Maybe as he's not yet been employed for 12 months or more they could have got rid, but it was a D&D nothing (relatively) serious.
Just think a lot of people want rid just because he wasn't a star signing and one people questioned.

This really isn't the case, from my point of view. Normally I'd be in the court of "first offence - give him another chance" but - because of the current extenuating circumstances (yes - I know not related to Aspinwall, and therefore he's a scapegoat (but in his case, I can't feel too guilty)) I really think we need to be setting our "New Owner's Disciplinary Stall" out before the RFL.
I think we're at an all time low with the RFL and, indeed, our dope case has dragged the sport down. Therefore we need serious brownie points, and if Aspinwall is the victim, than i'm sorry, but, frankly, in the few weeks he's been here, his loyalty card isn't very full.

So you think the token gesture of making him a scapegoat will help? It won't, and he'd have a field day with us at a tribunal, how would that be good for us?
The current cloud over Hull FC will only shift with time, once common sense kicks in and people realise that the club got rid as soon as it came out, also that there's a completely new regime in charge it will become nothing but a bad memory of an old regime that ended bitterly.
Imo, the new regime would send out the wrong message getting rid for what is an isolated incident, and a nothing one at that. It just comes across as vindictive.

What he said.
Knee-jerk reactions almost invariably come back to bite you in the backside. The thing to do is ride this out by calmly pointing out that everyone involved with previous misdeeds has left the club and that the new regime will be doing a far better job going forward.

| I had to laugh at this comment from the magistrate:
Quote reconciliationMagistrate Roger Ayre said it was a credit to Aspinwall that he was already attempting to make some "reconciliation", but this didn't excuse his actions.
He told him: "As a public figure, you have a responsibility to set an example, especially when the youngsters of this city are concerned.
"I'm sure they wouldn't want to read things like this about their hero."
'"
What youngsters in Hull hero-worship Aspinwall?

Unless it's been changed radically - which is possible of course - then dismissal for a first offence isn't part of it. Neither is being convicted of a crime an instant dismissal. You are right that none of us know the details, or for that matter any special clauses that might be in individual contracts, but based on prior events Aspinwall would not normally be facing the axe.

| Well, that's that then. Was been a daft lad in the off season, did a joke that went too far and paid his fine for doing so. We are due a new scapegoat on here though, so I wouldn't expect any less.
The club needed to earn respect before this incident, we have been a joke for the past few years on and off the field. The only way to do that is to keep squeaky clean and perform on the pitch, the latter of which I'm very excited to see.
