The signing casts doubt over the future of current full-back Cameron Phelps, who joined the club on a short-term contract earlier this year.

Phelps, who faces a spell on the sidelines having injured his hamstring in the defeat to Huddersfield at the weekend is already being linked with a switch to two other Super League sides, with Widnes Vikings a likely destination.

However Agar says his current full-back may still have a future at the club.

"Cameron is a very good professional and is very versatile," explained Agar.

"He can play full-back, wing and centre and his performances for the rest of the season will determine whether he is offered a new deal.

"Cameron provides us with great value in the salary cap and we could certainly be making him a new offer."

Well he is still part of the squad so going to say that so got something to play for but I don't see any chance of Phelps staying

Agree, Mariano's from Hull, reasonably young (24 I think), big, fast and can score a try. Could be a useful player and only (I assume) would be on a relatively small wage.

I should add Green and Aldous to that list, those four all seem to be ready.

Mariono isn't good enough for what we need he wouldn't get in the 17, and we have younger players like Cunningham and Green coming through who I would rather play.

He is going well but stands out in a poor Waskefield team.
