He may not be one of the brightest prospects globaly, but he is certainly one of the brighter ones produced by this country. Not many British players could get a contract with an NRL club at the age of 21. He has also made a respectful 8 appearnces in the roosters first 11 games, so he must have impressed in the short time that he has been there. |

Ok we have signed Long to give us direction around the park and a bit of attacking flair, but unless Agar totally changes the way he prepares the side and expects them to play will anything actually change?
Long looked like the dogs nads last night and gave us a glimpse of what we might expect, but unfortunately I can see his impact been minimal, unless we change in attack.
We only run in ones, very rarely have dummy runners and 99 times out of a 100 we only run straight. The only time we ran at an angle resulted in Tickles try. Any half back is only as good as there runners, and we simply don’t have any. Long was on top form last night, but saints constantly ran in numbers, ran the angles, backed up and even threw in a run around now and then. This resulted in Long been spoilt for choice and allowed him to pick us to pieces.
We currently create nothing in attack and are looking for a player to bust a tackle for us to score. Saints on the other hand create gap after gap and overlap after overlap. I hope Mr Agar understands that this is not solely down to the undoubted skill of Sean Long, but the fact that he has numerous runners to choose who he gives the ball to time after time.
It’s all well and good signing Long, but Agar has to give him the tools to work with, if not the signing will be yet another false dawn for us FC fans.'"

I disagree, completely different players in my opinion, Menzies is a great attacking player, and even though they are of a similar age his last season in the NRL Menzies was playing a lot better then Fitzgibbon. |

Firstly Carvell has got plenty of years left him in. I think that your judgement is clouded by the fact your body has given up the ghost at 29. 
Secondly, when did Tansey become one of the brightest prospects in the game? Hang on i think i know that one, what day did you sign him?  |

How do you know Agar isnt telling the board "we currently dont have the players to play attacking rugby but believe me when I build my team for next year and get rid of the driftwood already here when i took the job things will be different !!!! " |

Im sure he is but I dont blame the board for accepting what he is saying and going with him on it.
I too think next seasons buying will help but no it is not going to be the answer to all our questions.
Agar does have to go as he does not have what it takes to take us to the next level.
Unfortunately him leaving will not be on the horizon for quite some time though! |

To say he is one of the brightest prospects is a complete joke there are many players in the british game ahead of him in that department, as for the NRL didn't Thorman play in the comp aswell and look at peoples views about him |

No Thorman had a season at Parramatta and had minimal first team experience. Tansey, before this weekend, had played a part in 8 of the roosters first 11 games. Pretty good going imo.
The only reason Tansey left Leeds for the Roosters was because Webb, Sinfield and Burrows, 3 quality players, occupied the positions he prefers to play. If he had still been at Leeds he would have been a shoe in for Englands game against France next week, you know that came that has some of you reds creaming your pants because you have 2 players in it. |

I would rather have Briscoe and Fox playing against the Quins on friday night than for England on saturday |
