cartoons/WB17.gif I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.
Money doesn't talk it swears, Obscenity who really cares, Propaganda all is phony.
I'm the son and heir of a shyness which is criminally vulgar.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way.

| Quote: The Dentist Wilf "
And as the survivor of more false Dawns than you would get at a club for transvestites, I do feel heartened by what I'm hearing so far, so let's just see how it goes.'"
Line of the week, possibly even the year!! Is that speaking from personal experience Wilf, or just what you've heard second-hand?
Agree with you about Cartwright potentially being last-chance saloon for us. Where do we go and who do we turn to if the slide downwards isn't stopped right now.
I'm not expecting miracles and I think we all know there is an incredibly amount of damage to repair of many years standing before we can start to contemplate challenging the likes of Wigan once more.
Even if he only stays a couple of years and even if he doesn't be the man who leads us back to glory, I'm hoping (praying more like!) that Cartwright is the man who lays the sturdy foundation stones upon which others to come can build upon.
The club is a mess, almost a basket-case after a horrendous catalogue of errors over the past seven years or so, unquestionably the worst we have been in since the 60s/70s. The big difference between now and then is the context and situation of the sport. Being a struggling club 50/60 years ago, whilst depressing, didn't tend to be life-threatening, although we did run close at times in the seventies. Because of the way the game is now structured we have ran out of room to manoeuvre, we simply cannot afford to fall any further back, the trapdoor to oblivion is all that now remains beneath our feet, the fightback has to start right now or else the unthinkable awaits.
Agree that it sounds good so far, his attitude to work-ethic is what we desperately need to steady the ship, but as you say Wilf, false dawns and all that means there is always an air of caution (and dread!) where our club is concerned.
I'm hopeful we have at last made a right decision and the road back to the top starts here, but we have a long way to travel. Keep the faith everyone, but then we don't have much choice do we, you're either with the club or you walk away, there is no halfway house where Hull Fc are concerned is there!!!

| I relented and renewed in the end. I'd have felt bad coming on here criticising the club if I didn't go to games

| Just caught up with the carty interview. It's what we want to hear isn't it. Hope it sinks in with the players.

| I'll be relenting and picking up passes for me and my daughter when I get home. I probably always was going to despite flirting with notion of withdrawal.
I can't, with integrity, criticism the club and it's spending if I don't do my little bit.
Loving the noise and tone of the new Head Coach. It's certainly what we've been craving.

| Quote: Freddie Miller. "Think his community reference is to Penrith not Paramatta who are actually bitter derby rivals in the western Sydney area. Cartwright's nephew Bryce currently plays for Parra having started his career like his uncle at Penrith as did Jed Cartwright.
I was a season ticket holder at Penrith from 2000 to 2023 before moving to the NSW North coast.'"
Yes my error as I meant Penrith.

Had a chat with him in my local and he certainly seems like a guy that knows what he’s doin, has a real structured plan and do feel as that if he can’t get a tune out the club then no one will.
I certainly wouldn’t fancy getting in the wrong side of him as he’s a pretty big unit.

| Reminds me a bit of Peter Sharpe…a tough no nonsense Aussie…he got a team playing well, took us to a G/F and was very unfairly sacked…if Carty can get them going like that, apart from the sacking, then tat will do us.

Hopefully we're past the era of player power ruling the roost too where the start to throw their toys out of the pram if things get a bit too tough and professional for their liking

| Like at least 6 thousand others I've already renewed passes for me and 2 grandkids. The words we're hearing from our new man give me some hope that the good days can return. God help those who don't buy into his ways as he comes across as a real tough cookie. Roll on February.

| Feel for Walker a bit but he finds himself in no man's land with a veteran international signed to play him position and a young player deemed the pretender to him position also.
I hope they all find themselves a club soon.

| Whilst it's not great for them, all 3 have known for a while they aren't wanted here. I would think tindall and walker are on way more than they should be so we will likely have to pay them off a chunk or subsidise their salary elsewhere. Surprised walker hasn't been picked up yet but I guess most clubs have a first choice FB in place. maybe leigh need one since moylan and hardaker left the building.
tindall has another 2 years on his contract I think. Another costly mistake by smith and clarke. God knows how much money we have wasted on poor recruitment decisions in recent years. When you think about last season then throw in the likes of reynolds and gale, it must run into 7 figures comfortably
