I very much stand corrected. That's pretty much the brutal and savage truth.

| Quote: Riderofthepalehorse "Hi Rugby Raider, I have only the very best intentions for our club, and the greatest of admiration for our owner AP who saved our club, of this I have no doubt.
But I’ll share a story which I’ve told to a few forum friends privately.
Perhaps naively I had an idea, as the news broke of the new owner at the stadium for the Tigers, and before Acun took over, I offered our services free of charge, to meet with Turkish entrepreneur and welcome him to the stadium and liaise with a possibility of bringing both the clubs together, as we are also tenants, and the possibility of peace breaking out after the Allams tenure.
One of my immediate family, is from Hull, and a pass holder at one time with City & Hull, he’s a university graduate with a degree in criminal psychology, fluent in Turkish, and has an understanding of the Turkish culture, and the Hull culture, a perfect introduction to any possible liaison with AP and Acun, remember this was before the new owner actually took his new position.
So here’s probably the naivety, I emailed our CEO which I’ve done in the past, and offered our services for free, with good intentions.
James reply, went along these lines, if a takeover happens I’ll believe it when I see it, and he would bear it in mind for the future.
Once more I’ll reiterate, we only want the best for our club, but sometimes I feel a disconnect which has happened before in the Shark period, and now as then, actually attending fixtures is no longer fun but a chore.'"
An interesting insight!
I would imagine our CEO is just an employee of the club and has no stake in the club. He’s been in place a few years now and overseen our declining mediocrity, I’d question whether be should even be part of a future solution.
Any conversation should be between Adam and Acun (or whoever the appropriate person is at City).

Probably get criticised for saying this but i think Trueman is finished as top half
I was amazed last season how much pace he has lost since his first major injury at Cas and it was having Clifford in the team that made him look better than he was

| Sounds like Okunbor is struggling to settle , I dont think it will be long before we hear the home sick card played .
Could be a blessing if he goes as we could then bring in a 7 .

For all the improvement he brought last season, he's played fifteen games since July 2022. Also last year he had a specialist half back along side him.

Of course, the assumption was he’d pass the message on, who knows.

That would be good news because from what ive seen he isnt what we need. Is he going to get a new club down under though? Cant see anyone giving up a big salary with nowhere to go

Turkey voting for Christmas springs to mind.

| if okunbor went home, would we replace him?,we let evans go last season and showed no inclination to replace him.i think pearson is quite happy to coast this season and save cash.

I'd be happy to go with Staveley and Severs (or Jebson) for the rest of the year. It would be nice to use his money on a half or a decent centre though.

In all fairness I’d not blame him if he went home, he’s hardly set the world on fire with his performances, doesn’t look all that committed and the mess we are seeing in terms of on field product you wonder whether the training aspect or lack of could be a factor.
I remember when we were heavily involved in the ice hockey and a player came over with very good numbers but failed to produce when here. I got on well with him and when he said he wasn’t settling and going back I asked how come and his answer was the standard of training was poor and a couple of hours a day wasn’t enough for what he was used to.
Not saying it’s is the case but if it true Okunbor isn’t settling I wonder whether that has bearing if training isn’t exactly taxing or full days

While I think your a right that would be a very high risk strategy, without improvement im not renewing my pass. Ill take my chances streaming games and lets face it theres 15k empty seats to choose from if you want to buy a ticket.

Odd tactic by Pearson if he is deliberately running the team that way.
If (When?) he sells the club, then the only entity he can sell is the team (Players), the worse the team does then the value of his investment diminishes exponentially, as the fan base drifts away. .

fonds blancs/Sid.gif I have lost interest:fonds blancs/Sid.gif |

| It’s pretty obvious we are short of cash and that’s got to play out somewhere
It still costs a fortune to rent the stadium
Covid loans are killing us
We had no real income for 2 years
Adam doesn’t have a business like Fudgell etc
Adam is doing all he can - he really is
It’s hard when you’re juggling cash all the time and suck’s your motivation
It’s also effecting his ability to manage the Head Coaches !!!
