Looks like Barron could be missing for 4 weeks now .
Dont know why players with pace dont cover up their hamstrings especially in cold weather I doesn’t matter if you have pace or not. Players need full extensibility of their muscles/tendons correct muscle synergy etc etc hence few ‘cover up’. This is why teams do a thorough warm up and are prepped pre season. Muscle pulls have always been a fact of sporting life especially at elite level. I guess you are suggesting more poor prep? Sometimes negative things just happen hence a lot of us even last season tried to stay positive. And look what’s happened!

| Gutting for Barron to be out as he's shown great form and such an improvement.
Looking at the squad list I'd go
Rapana Briscoe Chamberlain Hardaker Martin Cust Sezer Ese'ese Bourouh Ashworth/Knight Cartwright Lane Asiata
Knight/Ashworth Watts Eseh/Salabio/Fash Moy/Hutchison

Sometimes negative things just happen hence a lot of us even last season tried to stay positive. And look what’s happened! All too often its players who have pace that suffer most from hamstring injuryThis is due to large invertial loads, increased sprinting with high intensity movement and abrupt acceleration It doesnt help especially in Rugby where as an example a wing could be out of the game with little movement for 2/3 minutes especially in cold weather then like Barron did make an intercept and sprint 80 metres. This is where some kind of covering of the hamstring area or thermal pants help. I am not suggesting at all poor prep as most know that jogging, stretching and massage are the traditional muscle warm ups but keeping muscles warm does help to avoid this type of injury in cold weather. No surprise that Field went off with the same injury on a cold day.He of course is a real sprinter and has suffered several Hamstring injuries since he has been in the UK Playing with your socks down round your ankles in the winter months will also not help potential muscle injury

Moy Rapana Hardaker Briscoe Martin Cust Sezer Ese'ese Bourouh Ashworth Cartwright Lane Asiata its what the Boss did at WiganThink we may see Fash on the bench. Did some decent defence at Wigan and has a high work rate Looking forward to seeing Watts play, think he will surprise a few as he gets fitter just like Knight Knight Watts Eseh Hutchinson

There is research out there that the medical team will have accessed. Balmforth is also out with a hamstring injury. I understand your rationale but it’s not quite correct. It’s the same as they should all wear headgear but whilst counterintuitive this doesn’t help head injuries hence now not worn in Olympic boxing. I guess it’s my bugbear that we all know better than the staff behind the team - we don’t. That said I was wrong about Tony Smith. I think he just got more eccentric perhaps

I'd go with that. But I'll make your 50/50 decisions for you. Ashworth starts and Knight bench. Fash bench. And Moy bench along with Watts.

| I'd actually think about starting Watts. Think him' Herman and Asiata can destroy them early in the middle.
