| Quote: Irregs#16 "He was offered to NRL clubs months ago, but nobody bit'"
With his injury record and age he wont get a club in the NRL or S/L
My guess is he and the club will come to an arrangement and he will retire.
Older players who have suffered long term injuries seem to go on and become injury prone. In our case Taylor and Bowden are good examples as age is also not on their side.
Shaul seems to have broken down again and it will be interesting to see how Griffin recovers as again both are getting towards the end of their careers.
Cator on the other hand is probably young enough to make a complete recovery without becoming injury prone like older players.

As soon as he got injured he told his neighbours that would be it for him - going home. But, maybe he got a better diagnosis than he expected? It would be 200k that we could use elsewhere

| My friends husband was doing some work at one of Reynolds neighbours houses, he said that he’d said he was going back to Aus for his rehab, said it sounded like he planned on coming back.
There’s a lot of talk about how it’s not BH team players etc and yes, maybe he can’t make them perform on the field for whatever reason but that doesn’t mean he can’t alter the culture within the club ! I’ve line managed people and you can only take a horse to water but he should have been able to command enough respect that the likes of Fonua don’t go out drinking before big games (and cop of an internal ban) same with Reynolds, he brought him over he should have been well aware of his reputation. For those reasons I don’t think he’s up to the job. If AP is going to cut his losses, he needs to start at the top !

| Gaz Ellis (champion human being) - well they're certainly not listening to him and Gaz has only one job to do!
Stuart Pearce couldn't get players to perform either.
Great players don't usually make great man managers, as they struggle to understand why people don't think as they do.
Gaz needs to move on as he clearly can only coach like-minded players, as the results suggest.
I have worked in high-level management in the City for many years. Many businesses make the incorrect decision to promote the best performers, hoping to see that rub off. It invariably doesn't.

Hopefully Fonua and Reynolds can be moved on and then 400k comes available and 2 quota spots'"
Those two will hopefully be signings 4 and 5.
With 2 quota signings, including a prop, halfback and hooker

All men are created equal, some work harder in preseason.

| Joe Wardle is a reasonable quality utility man who’s become injury prone of late. It’s like Peter Gentle is back in charge.

Apparently looking at both Wane & McNamara if/when Madge is relieved of his duties.

| These players have put in pathetic efforts under three coaches, so that tells me the attitude and professionalism of this group needs breaking. I dont think either of the 3 head coaches this group has had has coached them to have no backbone or pride.
I honestley dont know if Hodgson will be successful here but no one coach out there will transform a team from 8th to top 2 or 3 in one season. A new coach needs at least 2 to 3 seasons to build, from what I hear things behind the scenes where massively behind other clubs something Hodgson has alluded to in interviews recentley.
What we do know is the pack needs more fight and depth, the backline needs more speed. Thats a start.

The above is pretty much on the money. There is a reason that the team is not performing to its potential and it has had 3 coaching changes so whilst there where some issue with the old coaching regime the changes made in regards to coaching has not made an awful lot of difference. We have even had a few changes in player personnel, so you have to ask is it all down to coaching or is it down to the attitude of the players within the team and particularly the core group of players that have been here for some time. Is the loss of Ellis in the playing squad who carried an authority and didn't accept players not putting in the effort part of the problem with now no leader or respected player within the team to hold them to account for the poor performances?
Something in very wrong within the team as the talent is there and they are capable of doing much better but there seems to be no fire or intensity within the group as a collective, the usual players seem to give it their all but there are some that just don't.
As for the pack we have a big issue as we have 3 players that have hardly strung a run of games together for two seasons due to constant injuries and until that gets addressed it will be a problem.
I can only hope the BH now has full understanding on the players that can be counted on and the ones that seem to lack conviction and pride.

I don't believe that's true. Justin Holbrook took a Saints team that looked finished and transformed them and he only stayed for 3 seasons. Most class Aussie coaches rarely last more than 3 seasons before they find a better job. It took Daryl Powell 1 year to get Cas to Wembley and he transformed their style of play in his very first season.
All I look for is any set plays, or stylistic differences in our play this season compared to under Radford. And I'm yet to notice anything different. Even the much talked about extra effort in defence early doors is no different to when we was playing well under Radford.

| Didn’t Maguire win super league after just signing Paul Deacon?
To be fair, he maybe had more to work with than Hodgson.

| Hodgson just needs a little reggae man.
As Johnny Nash sang
Stir it up, followed by
Tears on my pillow, then
I can see clearly now.
Easy problem fixed.

Our style wont change why we have the likes of Shaul, Reynolds, Sneyd and Houghton, probably the worst pivots in SL., certainly the least creative and carried by Connor.
Desperately need to add a halfback and hooker to our squad, if we dont things wint improve next season.

Holbrook had a better quality of players to work with though...
Makinson, Grace, Percival, Lomax, Roby, Walmsley, Knowles would all walk into our team.
