I've said this before. There are actually some intelligent people over there, just as there are plenty of numpties (but then we have a large selection of those too).

| Quote hokeydokey="hokeydokey"I dont think changing the coach will make any difference to be honest , I dont think we have the players to do much better even if we had the best three coaches in the world. We have some decent players but some very mediocre ones as well and =#0000FFbefore you come back with its Radfords squad its not all his.But the biggest factor like i have said before and say it again the expectations on the side to perform is to great,we play with fear we have for a number of years.Defeat on Friday and Radford will be gone that I have no doubt the fans will demand it.Whatever I will continue to back the Club how long Club will survive is another matter'"
We have used 25 players so far this season. 8 were signed by Radford/Tony, a further 11 have signed new deals under Radford. That leaves:
Cunningham - retained whilst we let Heremaia go, not really a sign of not being wanted.
Houghton - As above, plus still plays 80 sometimes rather than use another hooker.
Paea - probably our best prop IMO, and has kept Radford/Tony signings out of the team.
Yeaman - the only centre to have played every game, has kept new signings out of the team and we've paid off others in his position.
Green - another who has played ahead of players Radford/Tony have signed.
Lineham - and another as above.
So which of the squad are not Radford's, as I'm struggling to see any evidence of players Radford is now lumbered with and doesn't seem to want in his team himself? Even those who have not yet played are either Radford/Tony signings or academy products.

| I don't doubt that our coaching staff want to be successful just as much or more than any supporter but that's not enough. Radford , Last and Horne have no experience in coaching anywhere other than at FC. Radford and Horne have precious lttle experience anyway and how Last has managed to avoid any blame or criticism throughout his tenure of various coaching positions , and indeed get promoted ,during such a poor and unprofessional period , to me , beggars belief. What next Steve Crookes , Cookie , anyone with a HU post code? The Club Hull idea is a pipe dream. At this stage we need experienced proven coaching staff with reputations that are respected by players in both hemispheres and if we can't get that then we at least need people from outside of the club and area in order to make a psychological and philosophical change to the whole demeanour of the club. Becoming more and more insular is not the way. We currently have a coaching dynasty built on failure and we need some fresh ideas.

Good post
Through various coaches we have played the same dire rugby, a clean sweep is needed.
No attacking structure, to easy to read, as a result lowest points for in the league and sat bottom.

Thats reassuring to know his jobs safe, after all he is a proven coach,11th last year and currently 12th this year which shows he is also consistent.
He reminds me of justin morgan who was also very good when interviewed on telly,in fact in his most recent interview I recall he almost completed a sentence.
Keep up the good work lee,at least you are keeping one half of the city happy.

| When I compare our playing squad with the others in SL, the main issue is that our Hull born players are not up to the calibre of players at other teams. The 'Club Hull' ethos has actually held us back as a club with the misguided theory that if you are born in Hull, somehow that will improve your performances as a professional athlete for your hometown club. I believe our Hull players are bang average in their respective positions when compared to their peers in SL. Over the past two years Green, Bowden, Houghton, Yeaman, Cunningham, Hadley have been the definition of average. The younger players seem to very quickly hit a limit to their development and don't progress as players to the extent of Wigan / Saints / Leeds / Cas youth players. Nothing wrong with a strong youth set up feeding players into the team but only if they are up to the standard required. Our recent recruitment of players born outside of Hull has actually been OK under Radford but the Hull born players are bringing the overall quality down of the squad. The coach too is certainly out of his depth and he falls under the 'Club Hull' umbrella also. He talks about performances all the time when in professional sport it's all about winning, he really does miss the point. The plethora of excuses routinely given by the club for our failings is not only grating to hear put is a sign the club is scarred to admit the strategy Pearson laid out after PG left has failed. An 11th place finish with one of the worst attacks in the league last year and the same again this year is only indicator needed to tell you that the strategy is not working. Please Pearson wake up and smell the coffee, Radford and his staff need to go, they are not fit for purpose. They were part of the PG regime that AP considered a failure yet somehow you managed to see as the solution? We all appreciate what AP has done for this club but I hope he swallows his pride and gets a coach with a proven track record in SL and drops this club hull philosophy.

| My theory is that the Huddersfield win was a fluke. Pure and simple. The players surprised themselves and it was knackall to do with Radford.
We backed it up with a narrow (again) loss to Wire, off the back of the Huddersfield "feel-good factor". a 2 week break and we got Salfords backlash. Then a huge wake-up call against Leeds and now we're sliding. That will be very hard to reverse. We played a poor Wigan side who were looking as bad as us and lost that due to dumb rugby. Now we're about to face a smarting Catalans side who's had a real 40-minute battering.
We're fugged.
