Hull have been mostly poor this yr. You can take Westwood n ferres n hock n anyone else you want but I'm more than certain they'd have faired no better.
Wanna see the level to which Ellis is still capable then you should re watch wire n hull semi! One of the best n most intense personal battles I've seen in many a yr with Westwood! Worth the money for that alone!

Can't disagree with that but given that Ellis should therefore be a stand out performer ,which he hasn't except for the 1 game you mention. As I said he would not have or rather should not have ,been picked on his seasons performances (plural not singular) but if he had not of quit the international scene McBanana would have picked him anyway.

So let's just all agree Ellis wouldn't get in the dobbins team . The jealousy is unreal haha

Do you realise how contradictary this post is? You say he retired because he wouldn't get picked for England but before that you've said he would get picked but purely on past reputation. Which one is it?

Ellis like andy lynch and ben galea have been a terrific players,but they all have a point where time catches up with them.All three are shadows of the player they once were,ellis's broken foot in his last season at wests seems to have started the decline,galea hardly missed a game in 4 years at rovers but his final season he missed more than he played,lynch plays but not to the same level of his first season with hull and hence his release to castleford.Long contracts to veterans not a good idea.

injuries cant be helped and everyone knows the older you become the longer they take to get over, ellis is still 1 of the best 2nd rowers in the game and when you watch him most weeks hes still a good leader, just need to have decent ball players around him and he will do his job in attack.
