It's a restraint of trade surely and would fall on it's ass as soon as an ardent Hull fan was told he had to sign for rovers or vice versa. Also, how would it possibly work if one club were willing to offer more cash/better terms or a longer deal. Complete non starter for me and a poor decision from pearson IMO

Hudge said that discussions are at an advanced stage to operate a joint Academy up to 19 and then operate a draft system for the kids that turn pro.

I agree. Seems like the actions of 2 skint clubs to be honest who know that they cant catch the top clubs on their own.

Merger was the first thing I thought!
Once the combined U18 team becomes the the best in the comp light bulbs will switch on.

It will be interesting to see what the other Super League clubs think. I can remember when a Wigan led rebellion resulted in Hull Schoolboys having to split into East Hull Schools and West Hull schools because of our dominance at 11s 13s and 16s levels.

| I'm totally against the proposed joint academy set up with Rovers.
Why would either club want a system that prevents them signing certain players?
We should be aiming at signing all the best local talent, not sharing them out.

Agreed. What exactly is in this for us? Hudgell is relentless in having digs at us and has previous for rule-bending, why get into bed with him on something as important as this?

Yes, Bobbie's lad is our U18 scrum half who is playing a few games at U20 level. Looks to be doing pretty well at the moment and has a good kicking game - cant think where he gets that from.....

Plenty on the warrington side by the sounds of it.
Only seen the U20's a couple of times this season but can't say I've watched them and thought there were any likely SL players in waiting

Jamie Shaul did well at fullback, not afraid to dictate players in defensive positions.

Totally agree we have nothing to gain by allowing them to share our facilities and using our scouting system in the rest of Yorkshire.'"
John Bastian arrived at Warrington a year before Tony Smith!!! He is doing a fantastic job though

Bobbie is not eligible for Under 18s any more Kevin; he is an Under 20s player now
