Exactly. I think we've signed up these young forwards quickly incase we don't have chance at signing any other prop/back rowers.
Some of the lads you mentioned should be ready to make the step up now.

| I think Radford has all the attributes to eventually become a first class head coach and taking an assistants role now is a natural progression. My only worry is whether clubs are actually providing a pathway for young British coaches to progress into a head coaches role as there is very little evidence of this happening at the moment.

won't happen
IF Radford is becoming an assistant coach then I would think it's because it suits FC, Gentle/McRae have probably noticed he's past it and want to get him off the playing squad, giving him a position as an assistant may be one way of achieving that.

| Quote Mrs Barista="Mrs Barista"I've never really "got" Radford. Average to good workhorse, bit rude about the fans, more interested in his businesses. Oh well. Space on the cap is a good thing.'"
Couldn't agree more !
Poor to average on the pitch and a dobbins fan that has never really had much good to say about the fans off the pitch. Fooked off at the first chance that he could and came back when not wanted anymore.
Only last year was quite prepared to "walk away" again, this time to our little envious neighbours.
He won't get a penny from me for his "well earned tesitimonial"
I suppose his salary will improve our squad though, whatever we do with it !!

| He was Captain when we were WORST team in SL. I wouldn't have him as asst programme seller. He is driven by things that being part of a team may trouble him. He left for Bulls and he nearly went to KR. No interest in what he does

The RFL need to be the ones responsible for developing British coaches. the clubs will always put their own needs first

So are quite a few others in our squad,so are they in the same bracket as radders???? He went to Bradford when they were top of the pile, and tbh,who wouldn't have at the time? Bradford then offered him a new contract, but he CHOSE to return to fc.Plenty of players have left fc to go to rovers and vice versa,so dont read a lot into this dobbins loving s***.

| Quote ChrisH="ChrisH"He's a professional rugby player. That's what they do. Play for the highest bidder/best deal that suits them if they can get it. He's said to be very active in the community for the club. He has a brain evidenced by his playing career being so good for a pretty average player and the fact that he has a business to fall back on as well. On top of that he's already coached and had some success and evidently isn't someone to mess with. I've never seen him not trying when playing for us , he always seems to put the effort in to me regardless of his limitations. When he was captain he just looked too knackered to speak so clearly not ideal but coaching won't involve getting battered for 40 to 60 minutes. I've no idea whether he'll be any good in the role and have concerns that he'll be coaching some long standing mates but I don't see anything that he's done as being anti FC or that should mean he shouldn't be considered. And if it means we get more space on the cap and can get a better player in then what's not to like?'"

No offence but Rugby players are different from the average shop worker. I'd suggest they have a lot more respect for each other than shop workers do.
