Which for me was a disappointment. A great player already busted when he got here.

No a legend for me is a player who leads his team against adversity to win something. Players like Swain, Kearney and Knocker.

| I would just like to say thanks to fitzgibbon for his high level of performances in the black and White shirt especially as a lot of them have been through the pain barrier it's been a privilege to watch you week in week out, after watching you for Sydney nearly ten years ago I never dreamt I'd see you in the black and White of hull Fc, thanks and good luck to you and your family in the future.

| Fitz is a legend of the game but he isn't a Hull FC legend after just 40 games or so.
He will be long remembered, though.

Would you class Peter Sterling as a Hull legend? I would and I'm sure he played less games.

He's a legendary player who played for Hull FC but that not quite the same as a Hull FC legend. I'm thinking Sullivan, Whiteley, Keegan, Norton, Oliver and so on.

I know where you're coming from but for me, Sterling is a Hull FC legend.

I would agree with that. Very rarely a player will play so few games for a club but still be regarded so highly by the fans.

| No matter if you consider him a Hull FC legend or not he is a legend of the game itself and glad he played for Hull FC.
Just a shame he finishes his career like this.
thanks for the memories Fitzy, Wish you and your family all the best for the future..

And of all the grounds he's played in in both hemispheres, to bow out at Wheldon Road is probably the least befitting of him.

Why is it? He's played in the world's best RL stadiums and is one of the leading forwards of his generation. To go out in a ground where the "best" stand is a wreck badly patched with plywood, the terrace crumbling to pieces (literally) and the home fan base about 4k, when it should have at least been at home at the KC in front of 14k fans, is a big disappointment, for him and us.
