| Quote Kosh="Kosh"Completely baffling. I can only assume that after having three coaches leave in relatively short order (Bomber, Kear, Sharp) they decided to try for a bit of stability. Shame they picked completely the wrong bloke to support.'"
I've always thought the 'stability breeds success' idea was a bit of a myth. If you can forgive the football comparison look at Man Utd and Arsenal, it always gets trotted out that it's no coincidence that the two most successful clubs of the PL era (Chelsea aside) have the two longest-serving managers. But if you look at Ferguson, aside from a fairly barren first 4 years (where he was given time due to the pedigree he had built up while at Aberdeen) it's the fact that he has consistently won trophies that has kept him in the job for 20 odd years. It's the same story with Wenger, Arsenal are in a barren spell at the moment as they've been going through a financial transition, but his job was never in doubt because he's consistently proven over his time there that he's the right man for the job by being successful.
IMO rather than stability breeding success, it's actually that [isuccess breeds stability[/i. If you have the wrong guy like Hull FC clearly do, all you're really doing by giving him so much time is the giving the monkey a typewriter thing.

| Makes me wonder if the board have had him in because we have only won 3 out of the last 10, because he sure looks like he has lost the plot now, is he a man under pressure ?

| Quote jordanp="jordanp"Agreed, I didn't want Kear to be sacked or Sharp, I also said on Agars appointment that he wasn't the right man but with the decision made he needed to be given his full two and a half year contract regardless of results just for a little bit of stability at least, at the end of last season I would have said thanks but no thanks Richard, and enabled the new man to have a pre season and an input on recruitment.
The decision to extend his contract when it was was criminal, and somebody should be held accountable for that.'"
Couldn't agree more

After the Cup semi win in 2005, we went LWL WLWLWL (bold being the Cup win).
2006 went WWLLLWL. First two were big wins over Wakey and Cas, last game was 0-46 at home to Saints.

Maybe just to make sure we should point these statistics out to the club?
www.hullfc.com/hullfc/contents/?page_id=4028
And ask them why previous coaches have not been givn such a length of time despite having a superior win / loss record

Just wanted to add my voice to the masses of disgruntled FC fans with our current head coach Richard Agar. Last nights performance was very poor against an injury ravaged Leeds side and indeed the final straw for many fans. The team play with no cohesion, a lack of interest, shocking attack and very poor disorganised defense and are dire to watch, infact so dire that i will not be attending another match till Agar has been removed from his position and the club appoint a top quality coach.
If you look at Agars win ratio of just 43% in the three years he's been in charge against that of Kear at 57& and Sharp at 58% yet both were shown the door for much less than Agar so why is this being allowed to continue?
Can i also ask the club to stop treating the fans like idiots with the false positive spin that it constantly emulates. You only have to look at indepenent reports of last nights match on sky and the bbc which talk of us being poor against the clubs own website which speaks of a completely different match. We are not fools and i fear that people are now going to start staying away on mass which may take time to remedy if this drags on for much longer. So please please remove Agar from his coaching role and give us the coach a club of our size and stature deserves for once
