| Quote Jake the Peg="Jake the Peg"I think our squad is actually on a par with wigan's except that they are performing way above where you'd expect them to. We have plenty of good players, it's just we've not really hit any form. I know plenty of people point to the 1/2 back situation but we've been poor most of the season even with horne and/or long playing. Most other teams in SL (wigan apart I think) have played with only one of their 1st choice 1/2 backs for much of the season (burrow, eastmond, myler all injured, crusaders having one or both injured, wakey and rovers letting a 1/2 back leave etc).
When you look at it we have plenty of talented players, it's just that they seem to be injured or misfiring most of the time'"
Can't agree. Our backs are nowhere near the quality of the other sides I listed.
Our forwards are probably on a par or better.

I dunno about '[inowhere[/i near'. I'd a say a backline of:
1. Tansey
2. Calderwood
3. Whiting
4. Yeaman
5. Briscoe
6. Horne
7. Long
or my preference:
1. Whiting
2. Calderwood
3. Horne
4. Yeaman
5. Briscoe
6. Tansey
7. Long
looks pretty good. Not quite as good as Wigan or Wire's, but capable all the same. If our attacking structures were approaching competent, our backs would look much better. The fact that Calderwood, Horne and Long have all been missing for large parts of the season has not helped, but Agar's unwillingness to try Tansey in the halves a bit sooner has probably prevented us from getting the continuity we need in that position.

I'm not saying you're wrong but in your opinion, who are our 'Pat Richards' and 'George Carmont' then?

I can't let that one pass! We're nowhere near them. If I picked a composite team very few FC would get in.
1. Amos Roberts
2. Tom Briscoe
3. Martin Gleeson
4. George Carmont
5. Pat Richards
6. Sam Tomkins
7. Thomas Leuluai
8. Mark O'Meley
9. Mark Riddell
10. Andy Coley
11. Joel Tomkins
12. Craig Fitzgibbon
13. Sean O'Loughlin
14. Danny Houghton
15. Stuart Fielden
16. Sam Moa
17. Cameron Phelps
So by my count 3 in the starting line up; 5 in the 17. Doesn't look like we're equal in strength and I almost took Paleasina ahead of Moa.

| Ive personally had enough of a the dross with poor coaching, signings of has beens and over the hills and low expectations our club seem to now be settling for so for me i hope we lose every game this season and miss out on the play offs and then hopefully some of the muppets who both run and support the club will take their heads out of their harris's and realise just where its all going wrong and finally start doing something about it and sack the whole coaching team. I know aill get called a none supporter for saying this but sometimes youve got to go backwards in order to go forwards and by achieving the play offs this season Agar will stay and next season will be just the same as this and the last two and i cant bear any more of it.

Even if we did miss out on the play offs (which I'm not sure is even possible, is it?), there's no way Agar will be getting the push this season. Or even next, I shouldn't imagine.

| Its a sad thought isnt it, Agar and the rest being the coaching set up for another 2 seasons? depressing even, because we all know (well most of us) that this dour un-entertaining rugby we have been witness to, will continue, and we will get the same old spin of JR, that weve improved, injuries havent helped, best fans in the league etc etc, we will be a mid-table team, all the time Agar and the like are at the helm, and we will have to put up with it.
I see where sebasteeno coming from, if we lose every game by big margins, miss out on the play offs, will this change the set up? you would hope so, but i can honestly see the injury excuse coming back out, and it would save his job!!!
Although i will get a pass next season, im doing it more out of habit than choice, because apart from the odd game, i cant say ive been entertained this season at the KC, in fact ive been bored rigid at times, bring back the entertaining rugby, when Mcrea was in charge, we won nowt, but you went away entertained, and knew the players had put in 100%!! you go to the game now and come away with headache!

| Really torn about the season pass for next season, I really am tempted to not renew it and to be honest the major factor in my decision at the moment is that i want to keep my reserved seat. Sad state of affairs when seat choice is the thing that is tempting me to renew and not the actual rugby.
Like you Westjba, the entertainment is well below par at least at away games there is usually some good banter and singing going on to keep your mind off another dreadful game

I agree with much of what you say Sebasteeno but who are you referring to when you talk about signing "has beens and over the hills"?
I don't think any of the recent signings come into that category. Do you?
Cetainly not Fitzgibbon, Long and O'Meley. Not Calderwood either IMO.
Cusack would probably be the most recent. Matt Sing before him. Nathan Blacklock too maybe but these two were a few years ago now.

| For me making the playoffs as an also ran is not acceptable or good enough. A club our size with a good coach setting up should be challenging on all fronts with a realistic chance of winning any 1 of the 3 titles on offer.
We should have kicked on from the GF appearance when we had a realistic chance of doing so but instead we fall behind at an alarming rate.
Taking this season in isolation we have done relatively well however take the Agar tenure as a whole and we have been poor. We would have been hard pushed to finish any lower this season than the last 2 so for people to accept this mediocrity is beyond me. People talk as if ours is the only club to be affected with injuries and trot out the old woe is me line everytime.
A sign of a good coach and team is how you battle and perform in adversity and we do neither well. Our short comings are so obvious and we are so 1 dimensional.
But if some people are happy to accept that then so be it.

If we lose the last 4 games and Cas win their last 4 we'll end up in 8th, playoffs of some description are garunteed.
