What we lack at 6 when Washy plays there is pace, Horne will give us that. If we can get him back playing like he was before the injury then he and Long will be a threat to any side.

In terms of signing a 6, if it was to be British then Kevin Brown stands out but that won't happen.

how many games have long and horne played together is it something like 3 or 4 games. ive got an idea why dont we just wait and see how these 2 go together, we all know what longy brings but he needs someone with that little bit of individual brillance like pryce has at saints,taking the ball to the line and been a threat exactly the type of player what horney is. just before horne got injured he was in some great form something we aint seen for a few years so lets just wait for horney to get back and hopefully long and horne can get a good understanding between them for the rest of the season.

With their combined injury problems I'm doubting we'll ever see horne and long play together for more than the odd match

Yeamo will be eligible next season if i'm not mistaken, but only one player can receive the 'discount'.... so while Horne is here he will have it, when he goes it will step down to Yeamo etc, etc......

The club can discount 50% of the salaries of any players who have been with the club 10 years up to a maximum of £50k for salary cap purposes. If one player doesn't earn £100k then it can be split I believe.

We still have to pay them the full amount of course irrespective of the cap, so the question of VFM is still relevant

That's who I was going to say! Gale would be perfect to replace either Long OR Horne when either is inevitably injured.

I also think that Whiting blatantly can play 6, and has won awards playing at 6, but is now more suited to playing 13.

Correct!!, but the maximum of £50k is across the whole club so if you have 10 players with the club for 10 years, you can only take upto £50,000 from the cap, not £50k per player!!
