Quote Uncle Junior="Uncle Junior"There was a large element of fortune in our win today but overall we deserved it because for once we seemed to want it more than Rovers. Of course we should celebrate because it's our first derby win in four, but if anyone thinks today's result negates the genuine major concerns that a lot of fans have over our coach then they are living in a dream world.
If Agar can somehow find a way to get our battered and exhausted troops to a victory over Wire on Monday then he will have done something towards answering his critics.'"
For once we did actually out-enthuse rovers and we would have lost this game last season for sure. I have been sat after recent derby games not only dejected at the result but utterly Peed off at the fact that they seemed to have more desire and have more spirit.
So it is a tentative step in the right direction but how much that is down to the Coach or how much it is down to the proven, big-game players we have brought in this season remains to be seen. The big dissapointment is that if we had shown an ounce of the pride in defending our line in all other games this season we would have only lost 1 game thus far.
I dont have any expectations for Monday as they will have had a less intense time of it today, especially in the pack and they are also a side who can score points freely and if we give as much field position and ball to them as we did rovers today they will hammer us.
On a lighter note tho your avatar has given me the impetus to get my Sopranos box set out again and watch it all over again......................as soon as i have watched the game one last time
