Richard Horne is 'Mr Hull FC' though


Horne has been poor these past few games. It really annoyed me that all he seemed to do was 'show and go' for the majority of the game on Sunday, but he has actually shown how good he can be this season which differs to Thorman. Horne just needs to get his head screwed on, whereas I'm not sure Thorman's performances are due to a lack of form rather than a lack of quality

Horne isn't supposed to be organising the team and putting the accurate kicks in though, thats Thormans job and he isn't currently doing it. Also Horne isn't the one making stupid decisions to kick early in the tackle count. He hasn't been brilliant I agree but Thorman has been far worse in terms of what their role is supposed to be.

Horne set a fair few of our tries up with his short kicks in the opening 5 games, he has stopped doing it.

FWIW im not blaming any players. Ive made it clear where i think the blame lies.

What is Horne's role?

Also Hornes dfence seems very ppoor this year, not as good as it use to be, much worst than Thormans.

He doesn't have the size he used to have thats why. Also Thorman is far worse in defence.

He hasn't had the chance because Thorman is putting kicks in on the 1st 2nd and 3rd tackle.

Think they've been on a par. Horney has struggled most with this aspect of his game since returning. He'll be back as time progresses.

My thoughts exactly. CT is constantly driven back in the tackle and is always in a bad position to control the ruck. Thats not to say Horne has been brilliant this year either.

Which of course won't show up on the stats.

Which is on reason why I don't like to rely on them.




I imagine some of that at least may be to do with his new, lower, 'fighting weight'.

What? The comment was made that Thorman has been worse than Horne defensively. I was merely pointing out that it was an inaccurate statement.

Ive also said on here numerous times im not blaming the players, its the coaching thats wrong, but the stats exist for a reason and like it or not the coaches do use them!
