| Quote: Riderofthepalehorse "Well played Leigh, great support and so much. noise from a a travelling band of supporters who very much remind me of our hard core support, they never stopped singing from start to finish, and to dismantle us as they did on our home ground, was a sight to behold, magnificent first win for them, in adversity, with super stars missing they did us with ease, destroyed us with craft and structure, Brad Dwyer outstanding, he wasn’t good enough for us apparently,
On to my team, weak, unfit, no spirit, muddled, no structure, absolutely pathetic investment in class or solid players, apart from Herman, the rest are championship material at best, Okinbar is bang average, and although Nu Brown talks a good game, he doesn’t deliver, one token run a game, poor passer of the ball, and no discernible kicking ability, leads me to think he’s not the answer to our go forward as a replacement for the great Danny Houghton ( that’ll get the hackles up on the never actually go to a match forum)
Tex had a decent game, but like general Custer eventually it became too much, Sutcliffe is a terrible centre, and alongside Macintosh as a wing, wouldn’t get in any of the top six teams.
Half backs, we have Fev half backs,
Lane, Brown, Cator, Fash, not big enough, hearts of lions no doubt.
Ultimately we are, and have been a poop team for years now, poor recruitment, lack of investment, especially in the first team, the youth investment is magnificent, but without a solid first team, it is meaningless as you end up with Stavely Martin, Litten, etc playing too many matches, and actually believing academy players like Jack Charles will step up, it’s unbelievable.
The recruitment of our club has been nothing short of amateurish, done on the cheap, super league is unforgiving if your crap you’ll get stuffed, and boy are we crap.
Now then AP it lies at your feet, as a supporter without any involvement in the club,, apart from sixty years of love I’ve invested, my suggestion would be to liaise with our Turkish bedfellow about communal investment.
Step aside.
Create a board of. Directors who are willing to invest in this once great club
Incidentally I was at Warrington and the friendles at Odsal and Donnie, stayed till the end of yet another heartbreaking performance today, and clapped these bunch of tryers of the pitch, but ffs if my spirit is broken,
and we have no rainbow anymore, then it’s done.'"
I also think that approaching Acun for investment is our best approach.
Relations are so much better since the Allams left and Acun has invested in other sports before in Turkey. Having everything under the umbrella also supports the future MKM/Walton Street redevelopment.
With proper investment we can start to rebuild. Get a hungry Coach in, and re-build the squad with some quality players.

Some times sadly to keep access to the parts of the club we want to hear things from they have to bite their lips and toe the line, Smailsey often had to do that. However, the thing is Dan Tomlinson probably knows that his days are limited as is our coverage in the Mail and he just tells it as he would have done in his old Fanzine, or when I trudged out of away games with him, because it was a shambles and it is just one in a series of shambles over many years that we have had to endure.
Any guy who has hosted his own podcast on the FC, sat on FC voices, who produces a monthly fanzine and stands in the park in the pouring rain selling them before a game, (before getting a job writing about the club he loves in the local paper) is one of us. Like him, watching that game back this morning I just can't believe how rubbish we are and where we have sunk to.

| Weve allowed mediocrity to set in.
The fans are as bad at times when everyones championing fash getting new deals or naming houghton in their starting lineups week in week out when weve a fantastic young prospect in the cold.
As long as you put x amount of tackles in, are local or try abit , that seems to be the standard set.
What about attacking flair and creativity, its massively lacking right across the team as well as leadership, courage and discipline.
Until this club stops recruiting and retaining 1 dimensional/limited players were going nowhere especially with no expertise in the recruitment department or coach selection.
Invested heavily in youth, yet appoints a coach who would rather play a hooker whos admitted hes fell out of love with the game and cannot pass to a kicker on the 5th.
What was the Lewis Martin non selection about? Absolutley baffling, made some amazing plays in defence and been a shining light, but sacrificed so Tindall can play, what about earning the shirt? Could the woefully out of form Carlos not of come out and Mcintosh stay at centre.
Its just all very head scratching , chairman and coach not in tandem at all, and thats even before we address how weve got into our current halfback situation.
Think the best plan is Grix until the end if the season, then when we have a better financial situation Pearson needs to pay what it takes for a quality modern coach.

| Bigest problem is we have no number 6 or 7. Yet smith signed them to play there. I Don't think Trueman will see the end of the season before being out with another long term injury.

| Smith has to take responsbility because that yesterday wasnt acceptable. I wouldnt cry if he got the sack tomorrow.
Pearson is a problem though, flung the clubs coffers with unproven coaches then when he gets a proven coach he gives him a shoe string budget. Everything from top to bottom is like its laughing at the supporters, £30 to watch them and then they play old faithful after a 50 point drubbing. These are all traits that just anger the fan base.
It is very odd though that Smith all of a sudden cant teach the basics, I find that very hard to believe. They is something very wrong at this club that 4 head coaches have failed to even come close to sorting this mess out. Yet some of the higher management and senior players remain.

Hi Rugby Raider, I have only the very best intentions for our club, and the greatest of admiration for our owner AP who saved our club, of this I have no doubt.
But I’ll share a story which I’ve told to a few forum friends privately.
Perhaps naively I had an idea, as the news broke of the new owner at the stadium for the Tigers, and before Acun took over, I offered our services free of charge, to meet with Turkish entrepreneur and welcome him to the stadium and liaise with a possibility of bringing both the clubs together, as we are also tenants, and the possibility of peace breaking out after the Allams tenure.
One of my immediate family, is from Hull, and a pass holder at one time with City & Hull, he’s a university graduate with a degree in criminal psychology, fluent in Turkish, and has an understanding of the Turkish culture, and the Hull culture, a perfect introduction to any possible liaison with AP and Acun, remember this was before the new owner actually took his new position.
So here’s probably the naivety, I emailed our CEO which I’ve done in the past, and offered our services for free, with good intentions.
James reply, went along these lines, if a takeover happens I’ll believe it when I see it, and he would bear it in mind for the future.
Once more I’ll reiterate, we only want the best for our club, but sometimes I feel a disconnect which has happened before in the Shark period, and now as then, actually attending fixtures is no longer fun but a chore.

| Inept CEO
Alot believe as i do, Acuns just the frontman, when you look at citys main sponser you l probably get an idea of the money behind hull city
Murat ulker
Youd be thinking the ceo would be actively reaching out over a glass of wine and having a chat with citys owners to see how the land lies.
Something seems off at the top of Hull FC
Are we a cash cow for Pearson? Does it say on the accounts how much hes paid himself?

cartoons/WB17.gif I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.
Money doesn't talk it swears, Obscenity who really cares, Propaganda all is phony.
I'm the son and heir of a shyness which is criminally vulgar.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way.

It's an eternal problem for journalists , particularly those attached to their local club. They have to tread a fine line between asking awkward questions when things aren't going too well, whilst making sure they don't suddenly find their access all areas badge being rescinded because they've upset someone once too often.
Alex Ferguson was a master of this tactic, having various journalists thrown out if they displeased him. A sports journalist is of no use to his newspaper/tv station if he's sat in the car park while the manager is taking questions inside. I know Hull Fc operate on a wholly different media level to Man Utd, but the principle's the same. They're always caught slightly between two rocks.

I very much stand corrected. That's pretty much the brutal and savage truth.

An interesting insight!
I would imagine our CEO is just an employee of the club and has no stake in the club. He’s been in place a few years now and overseen our declining mediocrity, I’d question whether be should even be part of a future solution.
Any conversation should be between Adam and Acun (or whoever the appropriate person is at City).

Probably get criticised for saying this but i think Trueman is finished as top half
I was amazed last season how much pace he has lost since his first major injury at Cas and it was having Clifford in the team that made him look better than he was

| Sounds like Okunbor is struggling to settle , I dont think it will be long before we hear the home sick card played .
Could be a blessing if he goes as we could then bring in a 7 .
