| Still no sign of any of the upper tiers being opened...disappointing, but can't say i'm surprised given how Semi final crowds are dropping, and how bad we've been playing in the league.

| They had that opera singer there in 2005 who kept starting Old Faithful off. Atmosphere was brilliant all through the game

The greatest 80 minute performance I've ever seen. Who's to say we can't do again on Sunday. Saints were a better side than Warrington are

disagree, team that day was:
1 Shaun Briscoe
2 Richie Barnett Jnr
3 Kirk Yeaman
4 Richard Whiting
5 Gareth Raynor
6 Richard Horne
7 Danny Brough
8 Ewan Dowes
9 Richard Swain (c)
10 Garreth Carvell
11 Shayne McMenemy
12 Stephen Kearney
13 Paul Cooke
14 Paul King
15 Motu Tony
16 Jamie Thackray
17 Graeme Horne
the only players i'd swap from the current line-up are Lineham for Barnett Jr, and someone for Graeme Horne, and O'Meley and Thackray would be a very tough call...but that's it.

So you'd have Mcmenemy ahead of Ellis. The bench was also weak on paper

Yes, I thought McMenemy was very under-rated, and Kearney played the same 'leader' role as Ellis, but did a better job of it. His performance in that Semi final was one of the best ever in the Hull shirt IMO, Ellis has been getting better but hasn't delivered a performance like that yet.
And I disagree about the bench being weak, King and Thackray were good in those days, and Motu was the ideal bench player as he could come on anywhere in the backs...only Graeme Horne was a bit iffy out of the lineup IMO.

| Latest news from the club is that the stand behind the sticks (bottom tier only) is sold out...but limited tickets still on sale for the side stands until 2pm tomorrow at the ticket office.
rlhttps://www.hullfc.com/article/30082/hull-boosted-by-holdsworth-return-for-cup-semirl
surely they are going to open the 2nd tier of the end for pay on the day fans?

Not if there's plenty of tickets down the side. It would look better on tele for the RFL if the lower bowl could almost sell out

| Can't believe how much the CC struggles these days. Even with big clubs like Hull and Wire it just doesn't seem to draw like it did. Remember going to McAlpine as a neutral many years ago for a Bradford v Leeds SF and that was a 23,000+ sellout. Thinks like the Grand Final, stupid kick-off times and having it in August are all factors in it's downfall IMO.
