The high ball is toms 'achilles heel' and he was up against one of the high ball masters in joel monaghan,the other being pat richards,the way to stop the accurate kicking is to put pressure on thew ball kicker which we obviously failed to do

The TV replay clearly shows that Yeaman was mainly at fault for that try. Caught flat footed.

Was terrible defending for that try by all concerned....kicker had no pressure,Doggy out jumped Briscoe AGAIN and also had no protection (Whiting is a master at blocking) from Yeaman and was a lazy tackle.Was the only tackle he really missed...Lynch and Macdonnell also missed 1 for a try but where is the stick they are getting,as for yeamans trys...it is a new structure now with no Manu so he will have to wait and see how that develops.

I actually thought Briscoe and Yeaman set themselves up well to defend that kick, but the execution was poor. Both defended well for long periods and Yeaman in particular was strong on the first half. Just pointing out to those blaming Briscoe that his partner was at fault as well.

You won't get a thread about Lynch and McDonnell because folk like to have a pop at Briscoe - particularly now that it looks like he's leaving.

Yeamo had a shocker. Although I hate to see needless shifting around, should Gentle try swapping the centres while Crooks is playing?

Said the same in another thread. Briscoe stayed on his wing, try was scored between Yeamo and Galea.

Big Fan of Kirk but has been poor so far this season, needs to up his game otherwise he could be under threat.

In the NRL he would probably have a centre who would make use of himself legally as an obstacle for the on coming opposition winger.

A lot of our fans have slated our wingers over the past decade for being poor under the high ball, yet not many recognize the lack of involvement from the centre in this area.
