We have a good squad and provided Gentle can improve us and sort out our rogjy hand edge defensively then we can challenge for 4th. Wigan, Saints and Wire will be the top 3 but We can compete with Leeds and Hudds.

i would like to think around 4th....but i have a feeling we will struggle and end up around 8th..even 9th

Why?

Top 6, though as it stands I think Wigan, Saints, Leeds and maybe Warrington look a bit weaker at the moment.

Hudds don't seem to have improved much in there squad.

Les Cats could be a big threat next year.

Our main problem for 5 years now has been taking advantage of territory (Leeds play off perfect example), we now have a decent set of halfbacks and some depth.

To give the kids a run out when injuries happen.

Finnish in top 6
Beat Leeds and dobbins.

the realistic expectation for next season is to be right on the door for 4th but no lower then 6th and win our fair share against the top teams in big games why not?, the squad is good enough with hopefully a couple of more signings and a new coach in and when i look at the teams above us how are wigan going to do with maguire going?, wire look a little weaker and another year on with a oldish squad but still a top team, saints will be top 2 most probs but for me i reckon we can finish above both leeds and hudds but catalans will be a top team

I fully expect us to be at least in the top 6. But the club is going through a massive transition period at present and we just need to be patient. I do think there will be a few more signings, at the end of the day AP wants the club to succeed as much as we do, albeit for different reasons.

4) Chairman dealing with off the field personnel pretty decisively and talking a good game.

Negatives:
1) Still not sorted a right centre. How many years? Worried about our defence in this area yet again.
2) Lots of changes will take time to bed in. When does Gentle arrive?
3) Short of depth in the pack. But the flipside is we'll have to play some of the academy at least.

On balance, and given the gap to the top 3, and to Leeds when it matters, 5th is the absolute best we could hope for, but I think Huddersfield have a core of young players who've emerged and gained invaluable experience this year and are likely to step up next season. Top 6 would be great.
