Thorman was outstanding against Bradford. He was involved in nearly every try, if I remember correctly. Like it or not, he's the best tactical kicker we have and can still open a defence if the platform is set and Tickle stays 30m back.

| I think it's a bit unfair to judge him right now as he's playing in a difficult position and one that he's doing for the benefit of the team. I'm prepared to wager he'd have been a better player than last year if he wasn't trying to hang onto Danny Broughs bombs and was playing in his favoured position. Also, if Justin Morgan (as much as i hate the little bugger), did at some point in the future take a punt on him he'd restore his confidence and turn him into a star.

If Reardon is not fit then I would play Whiting or Thorman at FB.

Hall scores tries so why not put him on the left wing with Yeaman who would be the best back for helping him out defensively?
until the injured players are back...
LW Hall LC Yeaman FB Thorman RC Whiting RW Calderwood
SH Berrigan SO Horne
HK Houghton interchanged with Lee

| I'd go with that muddyboots, apart from getting rid of Thorman altogether and putting Reardon at fullback.

| Stick him back in the centre where he belongs and we will see points and games getting won,i guarantee it,,,Thorman at full back he weighs about 6 stone wet thru why would that be a better choice,,Craig would be the first to admit it he doesnt like playing there but he does it for his club because they ask him to and i'm sure no in the team will ask to be there judging by the crap the players get off so called fans on thi site...

| Quote: chico's nose "I think playing Hall at fullback is not the reason he has made so many errors, it is when he has the ball in hand that he makes the majority of his mistakes. He does not carry the ball naturally or safely and always looks like the slightest gust of wind could knock the ball out of his grasp.
No doubt he has a bit of natural attacking flair, but there is hell of a lot of his game he needs to improve on imo before he becomes a regular first team player.'"
If the fans spot that then why cant the coaching staff and have a look at changing it slightly. It may be that he is most comfortable at running at speed holding it like that but if it coughs up too much possession then it does need to be addressed.

Greame Horne has been our most consistant back all season yet you can't find a place for him. On the other hand Hall, who has been shocking, would keep his place in the starting 13 - interesting.

To be honest i think thats partly it. The way he holds the ball is the way you hold it when your "option" looking, so its easy to get an offload away, or to swerve the body around a defender. These are not things you can generally do with defenders chasing down a kick.
Like i have said before, we are damaging his confidence playing him at FB, get him in the centre with calderwood outside him

If only Barbara Windsor was our chairperson...:11526.jpg |

| Hall has been really messed about by Agar imo, his confidence seems totally rocked. He has gone from a player with undoubted attacking potential (I actually feel he had the potential to be the best attacking English player in the game, to an extent I still do) but the whole dropping incidents last season seems to have knocked him. Also he is inconsistant at fullback but to be replaced there by Thorman must also be a kick in the teeth. Plus the fact that he is always fed a wedge ball from Horne and now every team we play against knows means he must get smashed nearly every set!
If he went to somewhere like Saints before the start of last season he would be looking at England honours for this season

| If you are a professional rugby league player, you should be able to catch a high ball, under pressure, 9 times out of 10 no matter what position you play. Whatever is causing him to make these errors is irrelevant, the fact is that he does and should not be used until he can prove his reliability in reserves. It seems he needs to work on his mental strength as much as anything else. I hope as much as anybody does that he realises his potential, but how often do we see potential at this club go unrealised. It’s almost like they hit an imaginary brick wall when they get into the first team and can’t progress as much as they should thereafter. That is an issue that needs addressing. Look at other young players at other clubs such as Wakefield, Castleford, Leeds and Saints that seem to improve year on year.
I personally think that if we can get Reardon fit, and our new signings on the field, we could make playoffs and make an impact. Especially when you consider the players that could return from injury soon. Things are not as bad as people perceive at the moment imo.
