FWIW, I think he is still a very good player, but it will be interesting to see HOW good he is when he is in a team light years behind the one he came from. He never cut it in a GB or Wigan shirt. |

I'll resevere judgement until I see exactly who else we sign for next season. If he has been signed at the right price and we spend cash on some real quality elsewhere in the squad, then maybe this could prove to be a decent signing.
Must admit that I was initially a little underwhelmed though.

I agree with this man here and a few others who have responded with less enthusiasm.
Long is yet another player who has given his best years to another club. FC should be swigning players about to come into their own so that WE can have their best years. I'm also fed up with the phrase 'if he can stay injury free' - it seems that it's been said about most signings over the last year. |

I think he is exactly what we need, an organiser who can change a game
would I have liked to him to have been younger? of course...but hopefully we will use him effectively and let Horne do all the running whilst Long organises

Didnt get the chance at Wigan....was shipped out rather quickly when he was there. |

I think your judgements have been clouded due to Thorman being your current scrum half.
Like Stan Butler said regarding Michael Dobson, the same applies with Sean Long but even more so; obviously a good wage packet - If it pays off, shrewd but still short term, backfires and you are stuck with a thorn (or should that be Sean) in your side.
