There were plenty of mistakes made in defence. Hall made more than anyone else, and a fair few in attack as well.

I'll happily defend Hall when he's unfairly criticised, but the simple fact is that he had a mare yesterday.

In fairness I thought Washbrook had a fairly decent game, he broke the line a few times and was looking to offload. He showed what we all already know, that LF is his best position.

Now that's a rash statement to make about someone who (yet again) had the burden of leading the team around the park. Horne was clearly injured, Turner was [iagain[/i ineffective, and the cry is for the club to dump Washbrook? FFS.

Craig Hall is shot as a Hull Fc player, whether or not it's down to coaching, confidence, being moved around position wise. He's too much of a liability, teams are targetting him in attack, his own attacking skills have deserted him. Let him go fror everyone's sanity.

Watched Turner play SO at Sheffield pre season and said then he wasn't a half back. Centre/loose forward/SR but definitely not a half back. Not sure why we are trying him there as he is another who cannot act as a ball player at the line, or even organise play.

Quote: east hull FC fan "So, not his defence then? Like on Quins 1st try were he shot out the line and left Whiting high and dry! Or their 2nd try when due to his lack of upper body strength he couldn't wrap the player up ball an all to stop him from off loading.'"

He's defence is the same week in week out isn't it..It's what we've come to expect . Oh , And i was talking about his handling.

Quote: Mrs Barista "It is a lot bigger than individual players, quite correct. But Hall is one OOC player who's created a debate on here precisely because of the contrast between glimpses of excellence in attack and consistently substandard defence and positioning. Some, like you, continue to claim he's "magical" and it's all Agar's fault. That's your opinion and you're fully entitled to it. Some, like me, think he's been given 60 odd first team games but is still a defensive weak link that well-organised teams, even cellar-dwellers like Quins, can exploit. With 4 players to cover centre already on the books for 2011, I wouldn't give him a new contract.

As I've already said, the acid test of the opinions of the "magical under another coach" group will be how many top 4 clubs are competing for his signature.

Our key problem, as you acknowledge, is the coaching set-up, which is already being debated at length on other threads, and which, IMO is a complete shambles.'"

I think much of the problem for Hall, was they way he was brought in to SL level. He was not eased in like many other teams seem to manage young players.
A bad birth can take a long time to correct, especially if your a confidence player.

Hall looked a bit sheepish today at Bev races, half of me wanted to go over and tell him how cack he was on sat. I thought it'd be bad picking on one though when so many are rubbish.

Also saw Kingy supping like mad and eating loads fo chips. Saw Whiting too, looked like he was heading off after 2nd race!

Craig Hall is a confidence player which is plain to see, he is a mentally fragile young kid in fairness and it shows that he does not handle critisism very well and it then translates into his on field which is suffering because of his constant critisism , its a vicious circle the lad is in and he himself I am sure knows his own issues and demons he has to deal with..
Remember He isnt playing in his true slot on the field and when he has he has looked sharp, he is not a future international by any means but he has a lot of quality unutilised at present because of the shuffling of the team each week but certainly not a waste of time and will come good, but it could easily be said of where was his back row to cover him?? he is a young kid and all players develop at different speeds , Craig is a poor tackler yes but he will grow and learn ...

If a player cannot handle:

a) criticism from the fans

b) playing in a different position to the one he considers his first choice

c) making a tackle

...then he isn't cut out for Superleague.
