Looking towards the ref's performance is a bit daft here anyway. In any game your going to get calls you disagree with, it works both ways. Doesn't sound like there where any clangers, and if you do let a player up immediately after a tackle on a break, your always risking a yellow with any ref. That's just the game.

Sounds like in a close game, which on the main is encouraging discipline and some daft plays were the difference.

Seems he's upped his game now he's been played correctly.

don't we ever learn,most close games in sl will be decided by who concedes the most penalties.

I still say it's 50/50 whether the ref gives a penalty or not.
Add in the antics of the player being tackled, and he's more likely to give one.

Problem is once a side gets a reputation for poor discipline the refs tend to be quicker with penalties. You lose the 'benefit of the doubt' factor. So we actually have to be cleaner than the opposition just to come out even.

Got to be done, though. SL refs are e and won't get better any time soon. We have to learn how to play them as well as the opposition.

Rankin played more NRL games at FB than SO.

Only going by the radio, so will have to watch the game to get a better idea, but rankin has been subbed the last two games, doesn't happen vert often in games that.

Bingo. It's the decisions that aren't given that have the biggest influence on the game. I'll reserve judgement until I watch the game back but I already know there'll be decisions not given that were the same as others that were.
