Whiting at 6 is an interesting one, people have been asking for this for a few years, so lets see how it goes.

We will certainly be more solid with Whiting there than Ellis IMO.

Interesting selection, one that will probably fuel the Ellis out rumours.

The reality is that Ellis has had some exposure at first team level and at this point is not demonstrating the all round skills he did last year in the Championship. There's an argument he won't until/unless he gets a run. The other argument is that we need to get back to winning ways and Whiting gives us more in the halves at this point. Disappointed with Ellis so far. Was really excited about him coming to FC but apart from his kicking game he's not offered as much as hoped.

Poor Whiting. Usual pre season stuff about competing for a back row place, usual reality of playing pretty much every round in a variety of positions with the current debate being FB or SO.

Remember whiting tweeting at some point last year that he hated playing stand off oops

Not taken a knock but because he had a groin problem is simply waiting to see how it reacts to a thorough workout.

Seems confident in himself that he will be fit.
