Quote: Eric The Viking "You keep living in your ideal little "Hull FC oriented world". There's no point in arguing, time will be the telling factor.'"

I don't live in any kind of ideal world, and anything is possible given enough time. I do, however, appreciate that selling the KC would be a lot more difficult than you seem to think, and that the Allams are unlikely to have been told what you think they have.

Plus you'll forgive me if I'm slightly suspicious about the motives of a Rovers fan who spends more time on the FC board than any other. icon_smile.gif

I do however spend most of my time scanning the Rovers board, for information more than anything. I very rarely post on a topic unless I know something and I actually know a lot more people connected with Hull FC than I do Hull KR, hence the extra posts.

Not sure if it's been discussed but what is the likely hood of the Allams trying to buy FC? If they are looking to buy the KC then buying FC would seem the next logical step to tie up the loose ends.

He may have millions. I doubt he has even a million he can lay his hands on quickly. Would anyone with £180 million spend around half of it buying a football club and ground, plus he has promised millions or team strengthening.

'when my life is over, the thing which will have given me greatest pride is that I was first to plunge into the sea, swimming freely underwater without any connection to the terrestrial world' Yves Le Prieur, the real inventor of the aqualung:

While I don't doubt that FC and City have paid a lot of money into the stadiums coffers, the truth is the ratepayer of the city has not got anything like a decent return on the money, if the recent reports of only 47k for the whole of the time its been open is true, then it might make financial sense to sell it and get the investment back. The only way to keep it long term is to get some proper revenue from it, perhaps the council should employ a team direct to manage it and then the rent you pay, plus City and all the other income from concerts etc could be put back into the councils coffers.

If the 47k is a true return, its less than a 3 bedder on Kingswood would have brought in over the same period.

for me, the only reason allams want to buy the stadium is when they've had enough, it will put more value to hull city when selling them again, nobody buys a stadium just because they want too

You're bang on the money there. Most of these billionairre foreigners who are buying up all our football clubs are only generally interested in clubs that own their own stadium. Would make Hull City a much more attractive option to many parties. Don't worry though Hull fans, you could share Craven Park with us, it'll be like the San Siro with AC and Inter icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

Cleared the debts rumoured to be 21 million
Bought them for a rumoured 40 million
I sincerely doubt they would want to spend another 40-50 million on the stadium and then the money for the expansion they are rich but not that rich.
And as it has already been stated I'm fairly sure that there are covenants restricting the sale of the stadium.

I'd be happy to let the stadium be sold. The council could do with the cash to sort some of the problems out.

Is it true that Richard Agar's favorite movie of all time is Groundhog Day or does he just generally like the same boring s**t day after day, season after season?:10603.jpg

If, and that'a a big IF, the KC stadium was to be sold to the private sector, then it should be to an individual or party impartial to both Hull City AFC and Hull FC.

However, this is Hull City Council we are talking about and they and a certain Adam Pearson did a good job stiching us up when forming the SMC, so anything is possible.

Wouldnt want this to happen atall, I think we would soon be stitched up.
I personally think city fans are deluded when it comes to the Allams, all this 'present to the city' stuff theyve fed through the media. The Allams are business people and I am certain they didnt get where they are from being the nice guys the HDM purveys them to be.
Football is a cut throat business, and it is well known there is no money in owning football clubs. So why have the Allams even bothered?

Quote: Eric The Viking "I agree there's no way that Hull FC can be kicked out of the KC. However I think some people are being a bit naïve that the stadium won’t be sold. From what I hear, on extremely good authority, is that one of the major reasons the Allams bought out Hull City was on the premise that they would be able to buy the stadium.

I don’t think they would have committed all the money they already have without thoroughly investigating the chances of this happening with the council and powers that be etc.

They will buy the stadium and then look at expanding as soon as possible. Hull FC will still have a home, but it will look sp when just over a quarter filled on most weekends.'"

If only HCC were an extremely good authority. icon_lol.gif

I'm not concerned about a prospective sale for the reasons outlined by Standee earlier. I have however had a good laugh reading the comments on the Hull Daily Mail website.

Eh! I dont like or watch rugby or football but i'd like to buy the stadium. Come on they are paying £40 mill for the club so want the ground as well. even I would see that as a logical move.
