My thoughts exactly. And I'm pretty certain that, in more than one case, his decisions regarding recruitment/retention weren't backed-up by those with the final say.

Saints could do a lot worse than appoint Sharp. Indeed, there aren't many available who would be better.

I dont know if I dare or if you will take it the wrong way. BB was making a comment in jest about how rumours usually have a wink attached and they have multiple meanings (see Hutchie for more details) but generally it means the rumour is complete bollox.

The emoticon is generally used to indicate that a comment is tongue-in-cheek or that the poster knows more than he is letting on. In the context of the post in question I would say the latter.

It would make us all wonder if he does a great job. What would that tell you?? Only time will tell
