| Quote: Walter Neff "Seem to remember that he was a decent player at Huddersfield,,,,Looks like a total loss of confidence.....Could it have been when he went to Aus,,hardly played for the Eels and ended up back over here?'"
Its been said by Ivor and DG already, but Thormans form dropped when Sharp put him at fullback for Hudds, he clearly wasnt up to it for us, and isnt for you.
But once sharp got the boot and our caretakers put him back to stand off his form came back. He has lost some pace which must dent his confidence too, but he was at one time a very good standoff, all he needs, imo, is a coach that can bring that out of him again, JS and Agar arent it.
If the poor guy decides to keep playing, you have got to think some national league team is gonna get a player to take them to the championships.

| I wonder how some of the high handed posters about Thorman would have gone on tonight if they'd been with us.
We got into the player's bar, They all came in after getting changed,
Thorman was last in.
The daughter was having a shirt signing frenzy with our lot.
Saw Thorman and headed for him.....he almost looked surprised to sign it.
FFS.....hes a fookin human being. And one with feelings like you and me.
I've booed him myself.... and it all made me realise what a tw*t I was doing it.
All the way home all I've thought is...ok He might be a pro and getting well paid but nobody deserves that.
How's this affecting him? His other half? I know I wouldnt want it.

| Thorman is a scapegoat because tonight he showed intrest at going forward, i feel so sorry for him, and when he missed the second bomb and they scored, the Hudders players pated him on the back FFS where are his team mates, i think the best thing Thorman can do is just walk away, theirs nothing at FC for him, and no matter what he does the FC fans are just gunna boo him. Wow can't believe im watching someones career crash and burn, i hope he can get a contract at another club, and make it back in the SL, because he'll probaly go to a lower league team if any, never felt so sorry for a FC player like i do Thorman.
Had to get that out. All the best for the future Chris. His FC career is now probaly over.

Agree with all of that, although some of the flack he's taken is deserved IMO (Leeds Away for example, and he was just asking for it by saying that Berro 'isn't a half-back' in the HDM). That said, while I don't have any issue with booing the team when they are playing badly, booing his name being announced is a disgrace. He's a shell of the player he was at Hudds and the people doing that to him are making sure he stays that way. It's seriously malicious and it's pretty obvious how much it's getting to him. On a human level I really feel for the guy and part of me would be pleased to see him come back to the KC with another team and stick it to us.

Huddersfield fans booed him when his name was read out and you could see the confidence drain out of him. When he went back to no 6 we started winning games again.
Then he goes to Hull and ends up at full back. the support he got from your players was shocking NOT ONE Player came back to support or help out the catcher. Thorman dropped them but he tried. The other 12 w'nkers you had who did not even try to help out are the ones who deserve booing.
FWIW he was ok when in the halves, a couple of decent kicks and a lovely cut out pass to send raynor away.
Booing a player when his name is read out as Giants and now Hull fans have done is shocking.'"
MAybe it's because he's shiit

Should be his last game for us, and he should be playing NL1 or NL2 next season at best.

| I'm touched by how sorry some are for him, for his family and all that. I'm sure no one sorry for Thorman and complaining about his treatment is slagging Agar on a daily basis. The fact is he isn't good enough at this level.
If we couldn't get another halfback we should have stuck with James Webster. Stupid decision by Hull that has backfired. It would seem that the introduction of Jon Sharp (great player for Hull) has only resulted in failure. Thorman probably came as a result, Ben Cooper probably came as a result. I thought Sharp was the defensive coaching guru? We got a lesson tonight in how to defend with a committed rush defence. Offside ? Probably most of the time but if you get away with it you do it. It does need 100% commitment for 80 minutes from everyone mind.
Thorman has never been very good as his career evolution proves. The problem wasn't dropping him to fullback last night. It was hiring him in the first place. Same with Jon Sharp I fear.

| Quote: Ivor C&G Scarf "Thorman as ruined as a player by Jon Sharp.
He was a very good SH. Remember, he was picked for England. He had a very good kicking game. He was an extremely good servant for us - despite what some 'supporters' say.
He was asked to play FB by Mr Sharp. He played OK - until Brough pumelled him with high balls. After that his confidence was shattered - until after JS departed and he returned to SO. He played the season out there and did a good job.
He didn't want to leave the Giants, but strangely followed JS to Hull.
Now, I wonder if you should be picking on Thorman and Agar????
By the way, I was embarrassed by our chants of 'Thorman what's the score'. Totally out of order.'"
top post ivor
i really felt for him at the end and i thought our little crew at the back were bang out of order i tried to redress the balance by offering support.

Exactly,
Thorman has not worked out in our team since the Bradford away game in March yet the fooking plank who picks the team cannot see the wood for the tree's.
We know Thormans confidence is shot to ribbons so who was responsible for putting him at FB when Tansey had to go off. R Horne should have gone there. Afterall, he has done bugger all in the halfs (AGAIN) this season either.
Thorman didn't cost us the game, our inability to score any points was a far bigger factor.

| i was in the players lounge after the game (my lad was mascot at the game) and Thorman was chatting to a few of the giants players. It was clear from his body language that he is completley lacking any self confidence and belief. TBF the giants players seemed to be doing their best to lift his spirits and encourage him. The vast majority of Hull players in there were very glum and down as i would have expected after a performance like last night so they do at least appear to care.
