| I think the fact the some people are claiming Tommy is our player of the year is more an indication of how poor we've been this year rather than what a player Tommy is.
He gives 100% effort and commitment but I don't think for one minute he would be missed if he left. He's like a lot of average players in our team atm.

| I like Tommy but it may be time for him to move on. TBH the promise he showed as a 16/17 year old hasn't really developed.

For cover....yes, but would he want to stay and be a cover player or get regular first team games elsewhere ?
All pro sportsmen whatever sport just want to play.

| Get rid. In terms of SL he's below average, be a very decent Div 1 player. People on here have got short memories as to how bad he was last year, remember Rovers away as one example? In fairness to Tommy he was asked to do stuff he's not actually capable of and therefore looked awful, the reason he looks better this year is because he has a very simple distribution plan to stick to. If folk are happy with that well good luck to you. Need to strip away at all these so called 'utility' players. The scourge of our club over recent years.

| People seem very keen to see the back of Tommy Lee, personally I think at least half the squad deserve to be shown the door ahead of Lee.

Dykes was more to blame in that game than Lee anyway. 7 minutes to go and the scores at 10-10 and he puts a daft grubber kick in on the 3rd tackle (under the sticks) which goes dead in goal only for Rovers to then get the field position to kick the winning drop goal.
Lets also not forget Berrigan running it on the last against Cas in the dying seconds of the game against cas this season. Both those players are clearly terrible
Lee was made a scapegoat by all the numpties who couldn't actually see what our real problems were. Thats not to say he didn't have bad games of course. I still hear it from the brain-dead around me at games now when he comes on or his name is read out.

| Can't knock the kid for effort ,100% all the time, but is very limited in what he can do,we need to release him,out of Houghton or Lee I'd keep Houghton and see if he progresses over the next couple of years, unfortunately Tommy has had enough game time and I've seen nothing that suggests he'll get any better.

are you suggesting that releasing one of the many average fringe players shows a lack of ambition? god some people on here dont have twist things to slag off the supposadly bad board.

10603.jpg Is it true that Richard Agar's favorite movie of all time is Groundhog Day or does he just generally like the same boring s**t day after day, season after season?:10603.jpg |

| I personally believe that Tommy Lee has a long and bright future at Hull FC, and that the signing of Sean Long could kick start his career.
Tommy received a lot of flack the 2 seasons before this, and although I added my opinion on several occasions, I felt that the extent that some supporters went in their criticism was a little too far.
The kid was thrown in at the deep end when we had no other options after a certain skid mark did his dirty on us. Although Tommy never set the world alight, he laced up his boots and tried his best. Although his best was often not good enough, the vast majority of fans simply forgot how young he was and why he was playing for us. In an ideal world he would have had another season or so to develop in the under 21’s before getting the odd chance to sample first team action, unfortunately that was never the case.
I still believe that Tommy has the potential to be a good scrum half, if the club let him get back to basics. He played the socks of the aussies when he played against them at school boy level, and that does not happen by accident. Hull has done to him what they do to too many players in my opinion and that is bulk him up too much. For the past 18months to two years I feel that he has been to big to play SH, thus impacting on his performances when he plays there.
I hope that the club let him run off some of his bulk and use the signing of Long as an opportunity to turn Tommy Lee into the SH he should have always been. The kid is still young, had bags of potential as a SH up until a year or two ago, and now has a chance to train day in day out with one of the best 7’s this country has produced. This gives him the opportunity to rediscover his confidence and form in the position he has played most of his life in. He would still be relatively cheep, so this should be a “Project” for Hull to work on and take advantage of and possibly develop a decent 7 for us for the next 6 or 7 years.

| Sorry but could not resist the offer.
Lee best player this season, having a laugh.Yes he has tackled well at times but his go foreward play has been as poor as normal.
Houghton in the mail got it right when he said that Lee starts an defends then he comes on and shows ambition and go forward, then Lee comes on to defend again.
This guy has had numerous chances to show his potential even given the nod in the CC final and he had to be taken off their due to his errors and lack of go forward.
He may have been great at the lower level but this has never come through into the top grade. I said last season he needed to go out to a lower league to learn how to push a team around and organise, but no we keep him and nothing changes
We have too many players like him currently, trying hard but no real skill or flair, we need player who takes us forward and scores / creates trys, this guy does not do this, if someone has his stats on games played tries scored and assists then tell,
This should have been his chance again with the current rubbish but no.

| I think his attitude has been first class and i've seen him hand out several bollockings during our all too frequent visits behind the sticks. Radders, take note.
